- The name of this helmet comes from "Macaca", a genus of widely distributed African and Asian primates.
- This also likely references the "Six Eared Macaque" a creature similar to the Monkey King which took his form while Sun Wukong was away from his home on the journey west. The "Six Eared Macaque" is also refereed to as "Fake Monkey King"
