If [[Rhino]]'s Stomp or [[Vauban]]'s bastille is used on a Volatile Runner, it can still explode during the stasis effect.

*Volatile Runners will charge straight at the nearest player or objective.

*Upon coming into close range, they will detonate themselves after a short delay.
Runners will no longer explode on death if killed by melee. The death explosion causes stagger, and damage scales up with their level.

*Volatile Runners will explode on death when killed by most conventional weapons and Warframe abilities.
Volatile Runners will still explode when you are near them with [[Shade]]'s cloaking ability activated. This can deal damage to you. Abilities such as Loki's Invisibility and Ash's Smokescreen also do not seem to consistently prevent a Runner from detonating when you are nearby. However, they will not pursue you if you run out of detonation range while invisible.

Among the light Infested, Volatile Runners are the least dangerous to Defense objectives as the shields on said objectives will often regenerate between Volatile Runner explosions as each Runner can only attack once. However, a barrage of explosions can easily block off a Tenno while Leapers and Chargers tear the objective to shreds.

When the Volatile Runner's exploding animation starts, it cannot move around and will not do anything until it explodes or dies. Sometimes it will stop before it explodes and reverse the animation, if cloaked and moving out of its range.

Volatile Runners are orange humanoid Infested Corpus crewmen with explosive properties.

Tactics

  • Volatile Runners will charge straight at the nearest player or objective.
  • Upon coming into close range, they will detonate themselves after a short delay.
  • Explosions deal scalable area damage based on enemy level and has a chance to stagger players.
  • Volatile Runners will explode on death when killed by most conventional weapons and Warframe abilities.
    • However, they will not explode on death when killed by melee.
  • If a player cannot escape the blast, he/she can roll to avoid being staggered.

Notes

  • Volatile Runners will still explode when you are near them with Shade's cloaking ability activated.
  • Abilities such as Loki's Invisibility and Ash's Smokescreen also do not seem to consistently prevent a Runner from detonating when you are nearby. However, they will not pursue you if you run out of detonation range while invisible.
  • Among the light Infested, Volatile Runners are the least dangerous to Defense objectives as the shields on said objectives will often regenerate between Volatile Runner explosions, since each Volatile Runner can only attack once. However, a barrage of explosions can easily block off a Tenno while Leapers and Chargers tear the objective to shreds.
  • When the Volatile Runner's exploding animation starts, it cannot move around and will not do anything until it explodes or dies. Sometimes it will stop before it explodes and reverse the animation, if cloaked and moving out of its range.

Trivia

  • When about to explode, observant players can see Volatile Runners grabbing their face.
  • Volatile Runners used to be called Runners pre-Update 12.4.
  • They will explode on death from nearly all damage sources, although a few may kill them without making them explode (need testing on which specific damage sources do).
