Vile Discharge is a Weapon Augment Mod for Embolist that stores damage up to the listed amount, which can be discharged via Alternate Fire to throw an explosive sac.

Vile Discharge could be obtained by reaching Rank 23 with Nightwave during Nora's Mix Volume 2.
Can be purchased from Daughter during the October 2024 Nights of Naberus event for 50 Mother Token.
Notes[]
- Discharge damage is charged by Embolist's main attack and any Damage-over-time Status Effects inflicted by it like Slash, Toxin, Heat, Electric and Gas.
- Charge amount is normally 1:1 of output damage. For example, it ignores enemy health types, enemy armor, and debuff amps such as Viral, but is affected by player damage buffs such as Garuda's passive.
- Overkill damage does not count towards the charge.
- Cascadia Empowered applies towards the charge.
- Discharge projectile always deals 10 Impact on contact, which is affected by Damage, Element, and Faction mods, but not multishot.
- Discharge explosion is 100% Toxin regardless of modded damage types or damage used to charge the attack.
- The explosion is not directly affected by any mods except Fulmination
- Valence Formation is able to apply the status effects to the direct hit and explosion, but not the damage bonus. However, the proc will effect Lavos if he is within range unless he has Valence Block active.
- Explodes in a 6 meter radius with ~80% falloff.
- Does not inflict self-stagger.
- The explosion is not directly affected by any mods except Fulmination
- Discharge has a base fire rate of ~2.5 that is affected by fire rate mods, meaning it cannot perform other actions for 0.4 seconds after firing.
- Discharge can not be fired while Embolist is using its primary fire or if it's reloading.
- Discharge can not deal critical damage or Status Effects, not even with flat bonuses or pathways like Mutalist Quanta orb, but can proc Slash via Seeking Talons which counts its own ticks back toward the charge.
Known Bugs[]
- Galvanized Shot is multiplicative to base damage sources on direct hits.
Tips[]
- Similar to Nightwatch Napalm, this augment allows Embolist to remain with a source of toxin damage even if it chooses to mod away from it, allowing for combinations such as Viral + Toxin.
- Electric and Gas' radial damage can quickly charge the discharge. Grouping can maximize the damage gain from Gas procs.
- It is recommended to release the discharged before letting it reach its damage cap, as additional damage will be wasted into the charge.
- In practice, Vile Discharge can almost double the total damage output of the Embolist if timed well. Spamming it too much will prevent primary-fire damage for charging it, but waiting too long can let the charge overflow and be wasted.
- Radial status damage and Punch Through are highly recommended, as letting one attack hit multiple enemies will effectively multidip that damage via the discharge back to each individual enemy.
- For example, if Punch Through allows for the beam to strike three enemies for 35 damage each, that charges 105 damage for the discharge. When fired, each enemy now takes 105 damage, thrice as much as they took individually, but still towards all three enemies.
