Velocipods are large flying insects that roam the Cambion Drift. These docile creatures are passive towards players and can be ridden in a similar manner to K-Drives. They can also be tranquilized and captured for Conservation purposes.
General[]
Velocipods can be found flying and hovering around the Cambion Drift. Usually sluggish and slow moving, they are capable of performing moderate bursts of speed when they feel threatened.
Despite living on one of the most hostile planets in the Origin System, Velcipods are actually docile creatures, and will allow others to mount and ride them. Proof that not everything on Deimos seeks to kill.
Subspecies[]
A common Velocipod subspecies. Purple Velocipods can usually be seen around the Undulatum region, although they are also known to occasionally venture widely into the surrounding regions. They can sometimes be spotted right at the base of the pathway leading to the Necralisk.
When captured via Conservation, they will reward the following:
Perfect | Good | Bad |
---|---|---|
3x Purple Velocipod Tag | 2x Purple Velocipod Tag | 1x Purple Velocipod Tag |
A rare Velocipod subspecies. Green Velocipods can usually be found roaming within the more central regions of the Cambion Drift, often just northwards of the area between the Cerebrum Magna and Infested Seraglio regions.
They are difficult creatures to catch, but provide serviceable mounts if successful.
When captured via Conservation they will reward the following:
Perfect | Good | Bad |
---|---|---|
3x Green Velocipod Tag | 2x Green Velocipod Tag | 1x Green Velocipod Tag |
A very rare Velocipod subspecies. White Velocipods are the fastest and the most elusive to find. They have a preference to swamplands of Deimos, and can be found scattered along the ridges of the Catabolic Gutter or around the Infested Seraglio. According to Son, it is a difficult task to capture one without accidentally killing it.
When captured via Conservation they will reward the following:
Perfect | Good | Bad |
---|---|---|
3x White Velocipod Tag | 2x White Velocipod Tag | 1x White Velocipod Tag |
Notes[]
- Velocipods do not glow or emit a beep when using the Tranq Rifle.
- While riding a Velocipod, K-Drive affinity and Ventkids standing is gained.
- Purple Velocipod tags are required to craft the Helminth Upgrade Segment.
- It is possible to get knocked down if the player stands too close to a Velocipod's wings.
- When navigating through the Cambion Drift, if a Velocipod spawns, you will hear the faint sound of wings flapping.
Trivia[]
- The name Velocipod may be a combination of the words velocity and arthropod.
