Spoilers ahead!!! New War/Angels of the Zariman
The Angels of the Zariman update has been extremely controversial in this community, with many of you making very valid criticisms. Personally, I like a lot of the changes made in this update. I have always liked using my operator whenever I can, but prior to this operator rework it was very hard to justify using my operator in most situations. I have always mained the Naramon focus school, so I am very happy to see void dash turned into something more controllable in void sling. Operator shields and armor fixed some of the squishiness experienced when fighting Eidolons. Overgrown cities and areas in games are my favorite places to explore, so when I saw the overgrown Vallis in the New War and the Drifter Camp, I was astonished. The Zariman tileset incorporates my favorite world design, and after 6 years playing, has changed my favorite tileset from Earth Forest to Zariman. The Holdfasts are not the most engaging syndicate, but this tileset makes up for it in my mind.
Now we get to the annoying changes. DE has changed the transference static effect to: 1st Operator death - 20% Warframe max health reduction, 2nd Operator death - 50% Warframe max health reduction, 3rd Operator death - 80% Warframe max health reduction, and the last operator death straight up downs you. This is a terrible choice in my opinion, as the only way to counter this is by using Magus Glitch in one of your two operator arcane slots. I don't really have firsthand experience of the problems that this causes as it doesn't affect me at all. I am lucky to be max rank with Vox Solaris, so I can buy and have bought 21 Magus Glitch arcanes giving me a max rank Magus Glitch. This has a 102% chance to negate transference static, so it basically turns of transference static. It is definitely annoying that I have to use a slot for this arcane and the problem is it is very hard to get a max rank Magus Glitch for a lot of players. Rank 5 Vox Solaris first requires you to have Rank 5 with Solaris United and even if you get to Rank 5 Vox Solaris, it costs 10,000 standing per Magus Glitch, costing 210,000 total standing to get a max rank Magus Glitch.
The change I am most frustrated by is one that nerfs stealth gameplay significantly. Many of you may be familiar with Adaro focus farming. If you don't, the gist is that you take usually, equinox prime and use her sleep to put all of the enemies you come across. Killing each of these enemies increases your stealth affinity bonus by 100%, stacking up to 500% that lasts 30 seconds (reset when you stealth kill a new enemy). Using this strategy, you can collect a convergence orb, sleep everyone, and then kill all of the enemies you see while sleeping enemies that aren't slept. This is a 5x affinity booster, that makes focus farming more bearable, especially when paired with an affinity booster. In the latest update, DE has reworked Eximus enemies (Heavy Units) giving them Overguard (which has been the target of most criticisms of this update), which I despise, and giving them CC immunity. Being immune to CC means that you can't disable Heavy Units without killing them. Now every time I run Adaro, once a Heavy Unit spawns in my way, I can't kill it silently, but have to cause a ruckus that makes all of the enemies in the area ineligible for the stealth kill bonus. Furthermore, the overguard makes it so it can't be killed quickly making even more noise and giving the Eximus a chance to inflict their annoying ability on you. This usually leads to an alarm being raised, making the situation even worse. This crap doesn't only apply to this Adaro situation, but in any situation where you are depending on a CC ability to do something.
I pray for a fix. Thanks for listening.
