WARFRAME

This font pleases me

New Font?[]

Recently we have imported the Warframe font - "Roboto" to the wiki, and have implemented it to the homepage and some of our templates:

If you are experiencing problems please let us know in the comments before it's too late, or update your browser. We'll be using this font in any templates that require unnecessary admiration.

However we are still holding back from implementing site-wide because once it's implemented it will change everything. Please let us know if you would like the articles to be changed into this font, or selectively pick which area to change (headers only, etc), or none at all.

Here's a sample for comparison:

Attachments[]

These items are equipped under Attachments.

Syandana[]

Syandana are cosmetic garments, worn on the back of the Warframe that feature cloth physics, swaying to the Warframe's movement. Except for Warframe-specific syandanas like the Mortos and Valkyr's Bonds, all Syandanas can be used by any Warframe. Syandanas can be recolored independently of the Warframe's colors under the Attachments section of the Appearance tab in the Arsenal, sharing their colors with Armor. A select few Syandanas have channeling patterns on them, though most Syandanas are unaffected by channeling. Some Syandanas, such as the Misa Prime was only available via the Ember Prime Access, while the Noru Prime Syandana is available through Rhino Prime Access, and the Phased Asa Syandana was only available through the Steam Winter Sales 2013.

"Syandana" is a Sanskrit word स्यन्दन that can mean "flowing".

New Gallery[]

If you are a registered user and have been paying attention to your surroundings you might have noticed a little grey box telling you to check out Wikia's new gallery or something along those lines. Here's the subject in question: http://community.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Ieatrice/New_Image_Galleries_Available_in_Labs

Because of the large amount of pictures exist in most articles here, this new gallery format may be the answer to the various organization issues and concerns that are currently present in this wiki.

Pick Ash/Media and Captain_Vor/Media_Tab as example:

To test the new format yourselves, just add ?gallery=new to the article's URL.

The new format will give readers the choice to show all/show less while retaining all captions and a uniform height across all images, which seems to be a nice middle ground between the two old formats.

As noted in the staff blog, this format is still under development and still lack support for VisualEditor for now. However, given the benefits noted above it may be worthwhile to have it implemented early for better organization and presentation. Please let us know if you would like to have this permanently implemented to the site or not.

If this receives positive feedback, we will:

  • enable the feature in the site's WikiFeatures page.
  • begin phasing out slideshows used in weapons page.
  • begin phasing out Category:Gallery, since it isn't necessary anymore.

Thanks!
