The Twin Basolk are a pair of status-heavy -based Grineer axes wielded by Grineer Flameblades and Executioner Garesh. The Twin Basolk was released alongside  Ignis visual overhaul in Update 17.8 (2015-10-21).

Characteristics

This weapon deals damage.

Advantages:

• Tied with  Dual Ether and  Nami Skyla Prime for the second highest base damage of all Dual Swords, behind  Twin Krohkur.
  • Innate damage – effective against Cloned Flesh, Infested and Infested Flesh.
• Tied with the  Dark Sword for the second highest status chance of all melee weapons, behind  Lacera, and highest status chance of all dual swords.
  • Needs only +150% status chance from mods to reach 100%, doable with three of the following:  Drifting Contact,  Volcanic Edge,  Vicious Frost,  Voltaic Strike, and  Virulent Scourge.
• Slam Attacks ragdoll enemies and have a high chance to proc .
• Can use the Twin Basolk-exclusive  Rift Strike mod.
• Stance slot has  polarity, matches  Swirling Tiger stance.
• Innate polarity slot.

Disadvantages:

• Innate damage – less effective against Proto Shields.
• Very low critical chance.
• Low blocking effectiveness of 35% instead of other dual swords' usual 60%.

Notes

• Due to the crafting requirements including  Atomos and  Dual Zoren, without spending platinum, Twin Basolk costs 180,000 Credits 180,000, 4 Morphics, 2 Argon Crystal, 2,400 Salvage, 1,300 Polymer Bundle, 1,100 Ferrite, 800 Alloy Plate and 800 Rubedo. The lowest possible time spent crafting the Twin Basolk is 36 hours, assuming the  Atomos and  Dual Zoren are finished at the same time (although the  Dual Zoren can be started any time within 12 hours of starting  Atomos, and still retain the 36 hour total build time).

Trivia

• When attacking, the weapons' discs seem to light up and spin, indicating some kind of kinetic charge is used to provide the damage.
• Basolk appears to be a corruption of Basalt, a type of volcanic rock.
• The Twin Basolk is the first dual melee weapon to use the 'Twin' prefix instead of 'Dual'.
• The Twin Basolk is the sixth weapon after the  Redeemer,  Tipedo,  Panthera,  Boltace and  Akjagara to require multiple different weapons as crafting requirements.

Update 26.0 (2019-10-31)

• Mastery Rank increased from 3 to 7.
• Damage increased from 65 Heat to 210 (55 Impact, 15 Puncture, 55 Slash, and 85 Heat).
• Range increased from 1 to 2.4.
• Slam Attack increased from 130 to 420.
• Slide Attack increased from 390 to 420.
• Parry Angle set to 60.

• Increased Twin Basolk Ground Slam damage by 4x , attack radius to 7.5m, and Status Chance to 65%.
• Twin Basolk Ground Slams can now ragdoll enemies.
