The True Steel mod increases critical chance on a melee weapon by 10% per rank for a maximum of 60% at rank 5.

- The critical hit chance increase from this mod is not additive, but rather multiplicative. For example, Dual Zoren has a 25% base critical chance. Rank 5 True Steel increases this +60%, it will now have a 40% chance to critically hit. (20% × (1 + 0.6) = 40%)
- Because of this True Steel is most effective on weapons with an intrinsically high critical chance. Examples include the Atterax, Dual Cleavers, Dual Ichor, Dual Zoren, and Obex all with a critical chance of 25%, and the Tekko with 30%.
