During the darkest days of the Old War many a Tenno relied solely on the Tonbo to keep them alive.

The Tonbo is a Tenno polearm that specializes in high status chance which combines with its high damage to consistently bleed enemies.

This weapon can be sold for 5,000 Credits 5,000.

Characteristics

This weapon deals primarily damage.

Advantages:

• High damage – effective against health.
• Very high status chance.
• Long reach.
• Large Slam Attack radius.
• Slam Attacks have a chance to proc .
• Stance slot has a polarity, matching  Shimmering Blight stance.

Disadvantages:

Notes

• Even though the weapon requires Oxium to construct, the Tonbo is quite inexpensive for a weapon exclusive to Clan Research, as most Clan Research-exclusive weapons typically require Forma or other rare resources such as Argon Crystals.
• The ground slam has a chance to inflict a proc.

Trivia

• "Tonbo" (蜻蛉) is Japanese for "dragonfly".
  • The weapon's name is likely derived from the Tonbogiri (蜻蛉切), a spear also known as the "Dragonfly Cutting Spear", and was said to be wielded by Honda Tadakatsu. The spear derives its moniker from the myth that a dragonfly landed on its blade and was instantly cut in two.
• The blade itself resembles those found on Bill polearms, though with significantly larger proportions.
• At its initial release this weapon could not be researched in the Clan Dojo, this was fixed in Hotfix 15.15.0.1 (2015-02-18).
• Listed as FlowerPowerPolearm in the game files.
