  • I was wondering if you guys ever thought of using your archwing weapons on foot in missions as heavy weapons like how a minigun would work like in other first/third person shooters. So the trade off would be that you can't equip your secondary weapons so as to minimise weight, and your warframes speed will be reduced by 20/15%. So what do you guys think of this idea.

    • personally, thats a really bad idea, i mean have you seen the size of the weapons? in zero gravity enviroment it make sense to bring big weapons since its weightless but on foot? heck no....

    • Even the smallest archwing weapon would be heavier and larger than an opticor. No I really don't think this would work at all.

    • Not to mention that Archwing missions will become obsolete.

    • I think it would be a cool idea, but for balance only max rank weapons should be available (so people still have to rank up in Archwing) and maybe you have to put some kind of augment on them first with a hard-to-obtain blueprint. I would love the idea of a Rhino stomping around with an enormous gun, or a Nehza dwarfed by a cannon six times his size.

    • Rhino or Atlas could totally whip the melee weapons around, but watching the smaller build frames may be a bit goofy.

Not when the gun is three times their size.

This doesnt even begin to go into how unbalanced the weapons would be in normal game modes. Their mod lists are incredibly lacking compared to other weapons, they would be outclassed by many far more easily obtained weapons simply due to those weapons having far more mods available to them.

    • Not to mention it would be completely unbalanced, the damage output on those things is insane. The only thing keeping them from being completely broken is the fact that archwing weapon mods are much worse than rifle/ pistol mods

True, Because most archwing weapons are designed to easily hack through or destroy ships, And imagine a ship destroying weapon vs a lightly amoured lancer...

      MMMMmmm... Squishy!

    • All arching weapons are heavy, using zero gravity to allow use, also, they are designed to destroy ships, so they are op in normal gameplay, I've been thinking about a game mode where you land on asteroids to switch, because underwater fighting sucks and is boring

Well , I don't think asteroids have enough gravity to pull the Warframes ... But game logic can kill the real-life logic , so it's possible .

I support your opinion about boring underwater fighting .

      1. We can't move faster . I mean the archwing can't use afterburner .

      2. When using melee , there's no auto-lockon as in the space .

There actually is in the settings, it just has a much smaller effect than what you see in Archwing. I honestly suggest turning it off due to it having been known to muck up your attacks by forcing your location in relation to the target placing you in a spot just out of range of the hitbox. Whether or not that little bug got fixed I never bothered to check since Ive gotten used to making myself aim with melee rather than leaving it to the game.

    • Id way rather have the archwing as a movement mode available for normal missions instead of the weapons. To just fly over the map and go right to the objective. In star ship maps this is not really possible. But you could just blast a hole in the hull and go to the objective in that case.

Archwing missions suck butt, and definitely need some spice. Right now they are boiled potatoes with nothing on them.

It would be cool if DE doubled down on archwings and spend some more on them to make them a bit more playable. But right now, they are just pointless. I dont enjoy the archwing experience at all as it is now.

    • DE make a portable small version of the archweapons for warflames please.

Impossible with how map generation works.

    • Well we could use a single Decurion  (theoretically) but without it's twin the synergy boost it gives it's damage would not be there. It would effectively be a galatine sized sniper with a tiny increase in damage, a decrease in proc chance, sound so loud it sets off alarms just by being fired, and a small AOE damage. All in all a weapon i only want for defense and survival.

    • by removing the speed of the tenno and apropriate animation of carrying a heavy weapon it can work like unable to bullet jump or jump at all but still able to roll, sacrificing movement in exchange of more damage might work if used properly.

making it easy to get the tenno..
