Part of me agrees with adapting...like I said in my previous post...When I play online random...I use mag against corpus,,,and saryn against grineer...No nova can out DPS me with those frames...I have 1v1'd countless newbs...and they all get taught a valuable lesson....
Spamming a ability is childish if you ask me..it's all about perspective.
The only thing you always say is that you play with mag and saryn and kill all enemies before the mprime gets there.... but basically your doing the exact same thing then, aren't you? And MPrime isn't a dmg ability anyway so just ignore it, what's your problem?
And please don't always say everything twice and repeat and tell us once more and point out again and clarify several times that you think excessively high of your saryn and mag....... =.=
BTW...I NEVER EVER spam abilities until I am playing with a random that is doing so. I actually more often than not run with melee only in low to mid level.
I am MR16 and have over 1050 hours of game time...I try to look out for those who are trying to level up or learn this game....BUT when they drop mprime on wave 1 of low level stuff...or start rhino stomping one enemy...I start doing the same thing to show them how lame it is.
And MPRIME IS a damage ability...My best friend and i decided to test something out...we went to Xini...
I brought rhino with just the soma and no sentinels...he brought nova. He agree to drop mprime and not do anything else...JUST sit at cryopod. I used only my rifle and shot ONLY primed enemies.
He ended up with most of the kills and had over 80% of the damage dealt.
Bragging once more! Hoping that I'll back out because you're MR16, huh?
Look: MPrime only deals damage during the explosion after the kill... of course if you mod it accordingly even on high-level it will deal some damage but first and foremost it's a CC-ability to ease the killing in general because the enemies get more susceptible to damage overall but after lvl 45 that stops... you wont be able to kill enemies with the explosion alone and the pecentage of damage dealt will even out, so in the long run it doesn't even matter.
Look of course it may get on your nerves if you see that some inexperienced players drop mprime on low-level stuff but don't sweat it, there isn't any serious harm in that and you should respect their way of playing even if you think they're wrong...
Now: What I actually wanted to say is that your bragging about your two frames is rather annoying and you should stop because this was originally a discussion about nova builds. If that message got through we can further discuss the issue somewhere where we don't disturb others or just drop it, for all I care.
Have a nice day.
PS: @OP: If after all that you still want to build your nova around MPrime there are two possibilities: speed nova (which is widely seeked out for ODD missions) and the slow variant. Speedy is skilled solely on range and effectiveness, while the slow variant is skilled on skill power and a bit on duration. Of course that won't take all modslots, so the rest is more or less up to you... Like in most cases a balanced build isn't optimal, since you can do a little bit of everything but nothing truly good.... have fun with your nova and tell the haters to just shut up
Wow, some of these responses are sad. This isn't Call of Duty, stop crying about kills. Molecular Prime brings a lot to the table and is a huge asset.
For a normal Molecular Prime build (which is fine), mod her up for mostly duration, a bit of power strength for the increased slow, and a bit of efficiency for cheaper casts.
eliciting ambient butthurt is Nova's 5th power
Was in an ODD the other day nearing wave 30. Guy is like, "MP is really slowing us down" I went, "lol" and just stood there, seconds later the pod is surrounded and we're all on the ground. "Yeah," I say, "this is quicker."
imo wormhole is a toy, antimatter is very specialized (almost never really useful and too slow to get rolling anyway), you don't really need to pump efficiency, and corrupted mods... well they corrupt. straight up > intensify, stretch, Continuity on a Energy Siphon aura and the beauty of Nova is that you've got an artillery piece with 6 remaining slots to play with (melee build Nova? hmmm). Oh and Null Stars are underrated.
Speed Nova has one advantage over slow : the lolz - anyone who thinks they're not effectively trying to murder their squad mates with it is kidding themselves. I mean that. If you know when it's useful and when it's not slow MP isn't a bigger drag on the match than say Tornado or a dozen other skills and techniques (knocking dudes across the map? Great fun, yeah they have to walk back to you), and the advantage of speed Nova isn't spectacular, lookie here I have a Nova with an MP that's suicide to go to in a pinch! Sweet!
Well, I couldn't make myself throw away any of Nova's abilities. Null Stars can interrupt enemies on hit, that is like the only defence Nova has. Wormhole is great for derelict/Void looting, speedrunning and simply saving those guys, who manage to die in hard to reach places. Can also be used as an escape mechanic if you are fast enough. Antimatter drop is simply the most powerful nuke down here. Its bugged as hell, but when it works... It works wonders! Hope they will fix it someday. MP... Should I say anything about it?
On defence, just spam antimatter drop in the beginning and start using slow MP when things get rough.
Fast Nova is only good together with Vauban against infested. All other options are like suicide.
I completely disagree. Wormhole is amazing for detonating MPrime in the middle of an enemy wave and causing all the now-slowed enemies to turn around. Wormhole - Prime - Roll+Wormhole out. Completely removes any threat from your team, a great way to deal with higher level enemies in e.g. T4S. Mobility is really useful for both, redirecting enemy attention and detonating abilities at key locations, not to mention racing to save teammates or that clutch last second life support. Wormhole is the best mobility ability in the game. Basically no cast-time, goes everywhere, doesn't require any unit at the target to get there, can be used by the whole team. You'd be a fool to leave home without it in any more difficult content. It's also awesome for speedrunning Captures and Assassinations in conjunction with a max Power Strength Volt, and getting to certain Void Treasure Rooms that are really hard to access otherwise (e.g. the one in the roof level of the power generator room; only Nova gets your whole team there easily, though Valkyr & Loki can help too).
I also completely disagree with Antimatter Drop. Antimatter Drop actually is actually her strongest skill but in most of the average content it's such an extreme overkill that there's no need (all non-endless missions are easily cleared with just a maxed out Boltor Prime/Amprex/Dread/whatever and even Endless missions are easy enough until enemy levels 70+ or so with no special preparations). But think about it: Nova alone Primes enemies for doubled damage, then quadruples her own damage while absorbing enemy damage into the Antimatter Drop too detonating hundreds of thousands worth of damage in a massive AOE. And Antimatter Drops can leech damage off previous explosions.
So...yeah, for killing late wave Survival/Defense enemies (talking about the 50+ min point where enemy actually begins to have significant survivability), Antimatter Drop is the best ability in the game. Combine that with a team who knows to shoot the Orb and you can kill anything. Combine that with a max Power Strength Mirage for a hilarious overkill; Mirage alone does ~120000 damage a second with e.g. Boltor Prime thanks to Eclipse and Hall of Mirrors; land half of that in the Antimatter Drop which goes on to quadruple that damage and then MPrime the enemies to further double that damage. We're talking millions here. The best part is, Antimatter Drop's multiplier is independent of Power Strength so you don't need to worry about Blind Rage or any such. It's also the ability that really cements Nova as one of the two true Ranged DPS-frames; her and Mirage are really the only frames that have an incentive to not build melee (Antimatter Drops is practically worthless for melee builds and Mirage needs the luxury of managing her own lightning conditions for Eclipse, and the Shadows don't all hit targets that efficiently in melee compared to ranged anyways).
Null Star is surprisingly useful but the least good of Nova's abilities so when you need an extra slot (you want 75% efficiency, extra Duration above and beyond the -50% from Fleeting Expertise, couple of defensive slots, probably Quick Thinking + Flow, and then at least one Power Strength slot to sufficiently slow enemies), Null Star is the first to go. Unlike the others, it's not a massive haymaker in the endgame content and anything but the truly difficult content truly doesn't require abilities (and Wormhole and MPrime will do great if you do feel like using some).
I don't know why people cry so much about spamming.
I just get my Ember P, sit at the lamp post on odd for 20+ waves holding 4 and sometimes pressing 2. Don't even moving the camera, letting the carrier vacuum all dem energy orbs until finally have to start shooting something.
