  • After playing with Nova a bit, I've been noticing some weird things regarding her infamous antimatter 8411 0f D00M:

    1) Sometimes I get lucky and the ball slows down so I can unload tons of ammo in it. After I dump tons of clips of fully modded Despair, I send it flying and see... 300 dmg pop ups... and nothing died... Same thing happens when I shoot the ball and try to keep it alive for long periods (about 3 mins or so). So, is there like a dmg cap or a time limit for you to blow it up before it gets it's damage wiped?

    2) What is the best weapon (yes, I know, big dps... but there's more to it than just dps) that you can use with the orbs?

    • 1) No (for timer), as its encouraged for people to move it around to unload as much dmg to it as possible, yet chaining bubbles seems to be more effective than making it fly around for long while hitting it. As for a damage cap on it, I heard nothing about it, on the other hand, people have been claiming that they dealt over a million of resulting damage with that ability.

      2) High accuracy/ burst dps weapons seems to be quite effective, I myself got a 33k bubble without even trying while using Phage not long ago. Some people will say that adding a punch through mod/using inate punch through weapons will also result on higher damage absorbed by the bubble, as it would hit more than once while going through it, and that critical really wont apply to the bubble, but take that with a pint of salt.

    • Take an unranked, unmodded Dread. Charge up an arrow, throw an AMD, shoot it. Should be able to hit ~20k damage on level 1 Grineer, to give you an idea on the damage. Of course, actually put some mods into your Dread and you can hit for much, MUCH harder.

Using nothing but a potato'd level 17 Dread and AMD, my group and I easily cleared up to 100 waves of ODD. That was pretty much our only source of damage.

If you're going for really big numbers, though, it is easiest to just shoot and charge one AMD, then simply chain the rest.

    • What about Ogris/Penta? Will explosions from those weapons charge AMD's damage?

    • ^Penta has a huge arc. Very hard to aim into it... Ogris should work though.

    • I would say use Quanta or Flux on this if you want it to absorb the highest amount of damage, as these will constantly add to it

    • Just for your information,a maxed potatoed Dread with no forma plus a maxed Antimatter Drop can do 400k with a single arrow.I've tested this so many times I can't count, because I use this ability to practically deny access to any area I don't want enemies in.

    • Dnt use Dread use the Synnoid Gammacor ( The Gammy Gun). Within 3 seconds of just pointing it at one AMD i make another and another doing the pattern. Each one explodes for over 400k.

    • Opticor works great for it.

My friends and I were playing with this for a littlbe bit. We all had Opticors and one Nova... we were able to do around 4 million of damage without Priming the enemies. 7 million with the enemies being Primed lol.
