  • the ballistic has nothing to do with the paris or dread. the only thing that is similar is that they all fire arrows and they all have a charge attack. that's it. if you have a better suggestion for the see also section be my guest to add it, but simply putting "paris, dread" is wrong since the ballistica is not a bow.

    • i would also like to note that the paris is already listed in the first sentence on the page anyway.

    • (After writing all that below, I feel like this should be up to discussion with the other editors/admins.)

While I don't completely disagree with you, the previous way the "See Also" section didn't really conform to how the other pages are done linking to similar pages. The info there about them being similar/different is miscellaneous (more fitting of the trivia or notes sections).

Addressing your latest comment first. Simply because the Paris is mentioned before doesn't mean it should not be listed in the "See Also" section. Having consolidated information is better.

As to why I believe the two bows belong there. The Ballistica, while similar to a pistol the way it is visually designed, still utilizes the draw-string mechanism of bows, crossbows, and repeating crossbows. While it isn't silent, it does have reduced awareness properties which which fits with the bows as most firearms aren't silent (other than the Lanka and oddly the Ogris/Torid/explosions) which in turn matches the fact that typical crossbows have a release mechanism sound once the bolts/arrows are fired (real bows are practically silent compared to crossbows, and both those are definitely quieter than a gun). Simply because it fires simlarly to gun doesn't mean it operates like a gun.

The final argument I pose here is not so much game-wise, but more a reality based one. A crossbow is historically and technologically an advancement of the bow and ranged weaponry, followed by the repeating crossbow which the Ballistica most resembles. These would be the predecessors to guns until the creation of gunpowder and the development of firearms, which operate differently from the older forms of ranged weaponry, hence the significance in grouping the Ballistica (a repeating crossbow) with the Dread and Paris rather than having a blank or incorrect "See Also" section. Not saying that firearms (such as the Ak/Bolto and Boltor which are also Physics-Impact but hold no silence/reduced awareness properties) could not be added in that section if deemed appropriate.

    • you didn't have to respond in such a lengthy way. i'm simply saying the ballistica isn't like the paris or dread so putting it as "see also" is implying that they are similar. if you put the paris and dread, you have to put the paris prime and the miter too, the miter also has a charge function and has a non-charge mode.

    • Yea, I forgot about that the Paris Prime existed lol. The Miter....maybe... I'm not so sure on that one. I'm thinking of several factors that play into this, more than just the charge-capability.

Personally, I think the Ballistica is similar enough to warrant adding the bows into the "See Also" section.

    • just make sure to put (Simlar bow primary) or something to let users know that the primary bows aren't directly related to it.

    • I'll get around to that. Possibly tomorrow.
