  • I feel that to be a good limbo player you have to know how to own the hate. dominate there salt. such as:

step 1) use cataclysm on a huge chunck of enemys.

(something that someone with aoe damage would see as tasty)

step 2) use rift surge on all enemies.

    step 3) undo cataclysm.

Now you have them all to yourself. just whatch them pointlessly shoot a rifted enemies.

    • As a good limbo player, you need to play in a fashion that makes people HATE LIMBO LESS, NOT MORE. I love playing limbo, but the bad rap he gets makes me feel bad when I play him outside of a friends-only lobby. As a limbo main, you need to be an ambassador between him and the community, so that he gets a better reputation overall. Use energy colors that aren't eye-bleach, don't rift the entire tileset without warning your allies first, try and limit the size of your cataclysm, don't banish allies without prior warning, that kinda stuff. If people take your advice, and intentionally perform in a way that makes people hate limbo /more/, then people will be more likely to get over the anger they felt back when his stasis affected allies too.

    • I dont see why people hate on limbo, i can't shoot out of Gara's glass wall crap the same as i cant shoot into a frost bubble.

    • You shouldn't ever need to shoot into a frost bubble though, they're for defending points in Defense, Excavation, Mobile Defense missions. Stand inside and shoot the hordes that come toward you while they can't shoot back.

    • I usually make it a point to let squadmates know what I'm running as we load in. The setup that I have that's got the most survivability (thus allowing me chances to pull my weight on a team) is a Limbo specc'd for range and duration.

      I usually get 1 of 2 responses.

1.) Suggestions on where and when to use my kit to be effective on the current map. Definitely favorable, as it allows me to be a team player, but not a glory hog that runs off to do my own thing.

2.) "Ummmm, you can not use Limbo durr hurr" This kind of response makes me *very quickly* want to just up and abandon the mission as there is really no chance to actually play like I'm worth a damn on that given team.

    • the reason people hate limbo is this. this is why your not helping your self your just creating more reasons that people hate limbo

    • I spec for range, duration, and power, personally, found a compromise that works for me when solo'ing - I rarely take Limbo on Public missions, as even when I don't use any of my powers (beyond hitting Shift to enter the Rift so I don't spend the entire mission dead), I still get people who spend the entire mission ranting that I'm on Limbo (instead of them, y'know, actually fighting enemies or doing anything useful).

Only times I bring Limbo to a group is with friends, and in that case, we're on voice and I coordinate with them - the folks I hang with actually appreciate Limbo's Cataclysm+Stasis safe zone and energy regen (which I personally find makes Defence missions easier than burning through a zillion Large Energy Restores trying to keep Frost's bubble up).

But yeah, just 'hurrdurr, SEFbhgbshg Limbo' is not exactly helpful for teamwork. So I just use Limbo for solo and friend stuff (or where I need the Rift survivability when I'm expecting to be reviving people a lot - still working on the Zenurik tree with my Operator, so energy sometimes runs out before a revive finishes and I get nailed the moment I'm shoved out of Void Mode), and Revenant, Volt, or Frost for pretty much everything else.

Oh, and when I get smacked by a troll Limbo's Banish while I'm on a not-Limbo 'frame? I hit the Shift key when I'm done with being in the Rift - if that player wants to shoot up everything, I'll just choose a different area and still actually do something useful to the mission, not sit and rant the entire mission away.
