  • Does anyone know if regular passives, (not way bound) such as madurai's damage bonus passives, Stay active if that tree is set to secondary? e.g. I have most of madurai, I just switched to zenurik will madurai passive damage bonuses stay in effect? and does that work for all tree passives?

    • Passives from non primary trees only work if you unbind them, and have the node activated on the primary tree.

    • Not OP, but wat?

      This system is so confusing...

    • I'd really like to know that too. Right now I feel like I just wasted a whole lot focus on the Madurai - Phoenix talon / spirit passives (those are NOT way-bound) because I switched to another primary

    • It takes a LOT of focus in order to actually have those passives active at all times. So, step 1 is 1) Pick a school 2) Get focus and dump it all into just those passives that say Way-Bound 3) You need to max out those passives, then get 1 million MORE focus, and a brilliant eidolon shard. 4) At this point, you can unbind the passive, which will now give its effect at all times for your operator, even if you switch to another school.  A lot of work involved in doing that, but imagine an operator with all those passives at once.

    • Step 5:  you still need to activate the unbound passive node in your PRIMARY focus school (it needs to be red instead of black).  Once unbound, passives from other schools will be listed off to the left side of the screen in your primary school.  You also need to have enough focus capacity to activate it.

    • Ok as nobody answered the original question,

You CAN NOT use "passive"s on non active trees. You CAN use "passive-way bound"s on non-active trees, provided you unbind them first, meaning both a huge focus investment AND putting up with the whole eidolon... thing. To say that nicely.

The "passive" distinction in fact is confusing, refers more to distinguish whether it boosts just the operator (active) or the warframe as well (passive)
