  • Why is everyone so upset about Lotus leaving us?

She's litterally never there in any of the later game regular quests or the cinematic quests. She pops up at the beginning and slides out, only to be seen again when you're done the quest. How are you so attached, lol?

    • Personally my problem is exactly this. Lotus/Orokin lore is never fully expanded on and Apostasy is this vague bullshit taken to next level. Whole prologue feels completely a waste, no explanation, no questions, does not even set a mod or something properly. It's a shit prologue.

    • Idk man you have her the whole game up until then and it feels shitty having her leave

    • It revealed that Lotus is (Most Likely) Margulis

I don't see why people are upset. this could be critical information for The Sacrifice where she'll probobly return anyway.

Correction: The Lotus is NOT Margulis. She says in CoH that she took up the exact appearence, voice, and general ideals and mindset of Margulis after faltering from Hunhow to appeal to the Tenno.

(At least, that's how I took it)

    • I'm gettin angry, because why would they put out a teaser quest that permanently deposes of an important figure? If they were going to put this out, they needed to be already done, or almost done with the conclusion that's supposed to follow, and instead we're just hanging out in limbo with an unfinished quest.

I'm upset because it's just poor update planning, if anything; I've got nothing against the actual storyline or lore it actually represents.

    • I am not upset. I never liked her in a first place. She is very secretive and that's not just for our protection. She has much-much things to hide about herself.

    • Teshin on the other hand doesn't hide anything. And when he does, he is forced to. I would like him to take Natah's place.

    • They should have released this prologue when there wasn't much else going on. When they knew exactly when they'd release The Sacrifice. There's really no point to having this prologue released so early beyond having to listen to a buggy hologram Lotus for god knows how long until the quest itself comes out.

    • Not me. I've always felt the Lotus has been fairly cold. Through the years there have been hints that Lotus is not who she says she is and that the Tenno were being misled. Although she has been watching out for the Tenno on many occasions, it might not be for the Tenno's sake. Along the lines that the Lotus has been manipluating the Tenno for her own purposes, this statement by the Arbriters of Hexis syndicate has always stuck with me, they "reject the Tenno as Warrior mythology - a lie constructed to limit their potential."

No, Margulis was 100% killed. During the quest, the memoires you hear explain exactly how she dies, and there is no actual way to avoid being utterly obliterated by the Orokin (Heap of law stuff). I am just like Margulis, taking care of the tenno, rejecting my race to help you all. Unfortunately Ballas is way to thicccc to resist, and also because of his regret of Margulis and what occured, and how similar I am to her... Basically he couldnt see me in any other way.

      Basically (out of character)

Margulis and Natah (The Lotus) are pretty much exactly the same. Both love the Tenno, both rejected their heritage for the Tenno. Margulis 100% is dead, but Ballas sees Natah as Margulis (cause they are basically the same), and as I did say, he still holds so much regret, thats why he basically said 'I wont leave you again Margulis' or something like that.

    • Well i still like The Lotus, she's been with us since the start of Warframe. To get rid of her would be a very dumb move. Also i think she has not completely betrayed us. Because if she did, why lead us to the Umbra Warframe. If you look at the Umbra Mods, you will see something called Tau Resistance. The Sentinals come from the Tau System. I think in The New War update, we may be going to the Tau System. Also (in my opinion), in The New War trailer, Lotus/Natah sounds very confused and lost.

who have we been taking orders from then?

I understand that this was posted here without much forethought, I really do- But come on, she's been with us for literally years guiding us through everything.

    • It hit certain tenno differently. For those who've played WF since early days feel more connected to Lotus. Hell she was our Navi! So when Apostasy happened it was basically betrayal. We had years of investments.

We pissed also because her storyline was rushed a bit. And there are so many unanswered questions. So yeah, we want a new space mom.

actually margulis was executed when she was found to be looking after the tenno and lotus is simply taking her place as mother to the tenno

maybe because during the second dream and the war within she felt like your mother as she was very kind a nice to you

    • And some people have played this game for years. And have had her part of our game that whole time. I don't care either way much, I'm just tired of the fake lotus.

        Loading editor
    • Pretty sure it is the idea that she was our first ally in the game and guided us among many parts of the game. Then, on second dream even after going against her wishes and flat out ignoring her. She came, in person, for the first time. To help you.

Not that we can fault her, she is after all the reason we, the tenno, went on a genocide against the orikin.

Now. Some lore. As we all know. The "Orikin", the creators also know as the ones to have made the tenno. Are the human race. It ties in a similar way to the plot of Halo.

Anyway, The Orikin. The pinacle of humanity, we created the Grineer, Infected, and Sentients. The corpus are just the remains of our race. Which have become more akin to dog breeds in which the credits and commerce are what makes the breed higher.

Grineer, clones made to get easy organ replacement and slaves. The Sentients, terraforming machines. The Infected were created to fight The Sentients after they rebelled.

After the sentients rebelled against the Orikin. They created the infested. The infested didn't work as planned, but they were close. So, they created the Tenno. Fusing both the power of the infestation in armors, and young humans. They made, the first Tenno. "Machines" to fight the sentient Hunhow or something. Too bad, the Orikin saw the Tenno as too powerful, and wanted to end them. Too bad for them, that "Marculis", also know as Lotus. The only mix of a Oriking with Sentient powers, the "daughter" of Hunhow. Took pity on us, and wanted to help us. It was because of her, that we Tenno rebelled against the Orikin. We brough them to extintion. Then... we went asleep. But the Lotus, as always. Just wanted us to "live". Knowing our past was not really something that we needed. So she was against the idea of us confronting the past. Because, for all intenses and purposes. Lotus send us on a path to end the Orikin. We almost succes, some remain. But the golden days have been left behind. They are no better than Grineer clones. Corpus is what we call them now.

That is what I got from the forum and the Wiki. It's higly hypotetised that Ballas did something to Lotus to change her mind. Some say he woke up the "sentient" inside of her. Which would explain what happen to Ballas and why she wants to, well. Terraform the solar system and end every other race? For all we know it is Hunhow's dead man switch that ballas activated inside of lotus.

    • I have a feeling the end of the New War is going to lead up to us making a choice of whether we should kill Natah, turn her back into the Lotus, or just take some third option like spare her and let her flee back to Tau and reconsider her motivations of trying to kill us all, and I'm under the impression we'll have various major NPC's arguing for/encouraging us to take one path or the other when the time comes.

Personally I'm beginning to notice a pattern of The Man in the Wall being pro-"Kill Natah", and he probably has some sinister ulterior motive for pushing us to do that.
