I reached the level cap at 30, how do I bypass to get to the lvl 40's for the harder missions?

You can't go above the level cap.
Please keep in mind that the mission levels doesn't really care what your warframe level is.
Increasing levels only increase your mod capacity, health, shield and energy.
Correct usage of mods will allow you to complete the higher level missions.
If you have a warframe that you really like than you can:
1. Double its mod points by using Orokin Reactor.
2. Change one of the mod slots polarity (so it can hold up to twice as many points of the same polarity mod as before) using Forma.
Step 2 can be applied multiple times, no current limit is known.
Keep in mind that using a Forma will reset the warframe level to 0 so you'll have to level it again.
The same functionality described above can be applied to weapons with Orokin Catalyst instead of Orokin Reactor (Forma is the same).
Orokin Reactor/Catalyst blueprints can be obtained from alerts and are VERY rare so make sure you are 100% happy with the warframe you are going to use it on before you waste it (maybe login reward, check the wiki page).
Forma/Forma blueprint can be obtained from void runs and login rewards.
Unlike mods, Orokin Reactor/Catalyst and Forma can't be reclaimed and used on another warframe/weapon, once used they are gone forever.
On a personal note:
I used Orokin Reactor on Frost (which I'm sorry I did since they released the Frost Prime) and Vauban (which I'm very happy with).
I used Orokin Catalyst on Boltor, Snipetron (before they removed it the first time and I regret it ever since) Despair and Acrid.
I used Forma on all of the above (with the exception of Snipetron).
^2thumbsup to that guy. Well said.
On a personal note:
The Polarity slots on Frost Prime are simply not worth it, it's more of a detriment than an aid. If you have an Alternate Helm for him, it negates all cool factors of him which is his gold trim head-piece. I actually farmed the BPs for Frost from the hammer boss even though I can build Frost Prime. Waste of a Prime Warframe.
^Psycix
Actually alot of ppl I know hate the "bird helmet" Frost Prime Helmet...and I'd prefer ne othr helmet then that 1... I prefer the bonus effects newayz...
You can use the normal Frost helment with the Frost Prime.
I don't see a reason not to use Frost Prime (game-play wise) other than the fact that you need to actually get it.
Considering you need to train both to 30 for mastery than you need to get it eventually so it's best to do so before you potato/forma your normal Frost.
