  • I own both a Prisma Gorgon and a Gorgon Wraith, but I haven't given them any attention when it comes to mods for a very long time, due to their lack of polarities (neither of them have had a forma used on them and I think at least one of them still needs a potato). I understand that many people feel that the gorgon is not a brilliant weapon, but when I was new I absolutely loved the regular Gorgon and I really want to start using these two guns again, even if it is just for shits and giggles.

Could anyone please give me some advice as to how I should build/forma them???

From memory I only have 1 forma and 5 forma blueprints at the moment (I have the materials needed to make all 5, it's just a matter of waiting for one to craft and starting the next one) and I'd rather not use all of them on one gun.

    Thanks!

Also if anyone is wondering why I happen to own two different versions of the same gun, I originally just had a Prisma Gorgon (a very nice person in an alliance, which my clan used to be a part of, gave it to me the first time it released) and I got a Gorgon Wraith from the Infested Nightmares Bonus Weekend.

    • For the Prisma, a crit build is a must. Add punch through and fire rate (so it spools up faster) and it should shred everything.

To me, the Prisma appears to beat the Wraith in every category - you might as well sell off the Wraith after you master it, rather than waste resources.

    • I'm not much a fan of crit build but it could work on the prisma.

Otherwise, serration, split chamber, shred, eventually heavy caliber or speed trigger ...

for the second half, either crit mod or 3 elem  and ammo mutation.

I don't think I'm going to sell either any time soon.

Also the Wraith does beat the prisma in certain categories. (see below)

Gorgon Wraith compared to Prisma Gorgon:

      • Higher base damage (27.0 vs. 25.0).
      • Higher [1] Impact damage (23.0 vs. 18.75).
      • Slightly Lower [2] Puncture damage (2.7 vs. 3.75).
      • Slightly Lower [3] Slash damage (1.3 vs 2.5).
      • Lower critical chance (10.0% vs 15.0%).
      • Lower critical damage (1.5x vs. 2.0x).
      • Higher Status chance (15.0% vs. 5.0%).
      • Smaller magazine (90 rounds vs. 120 rounds).
      • Smaller ammo capacity (540 rounds vs. 840 rounds).
      • Slower fire rate (13.3 vs. 14.2).
      • Lower accuracy (10.5 vs. 14.3).
      • Faster spool-up (10 rounds vs. 12 rounds).
      • Increased recoil.

    • To the lone tenno above,

They're both good in their own ways, I prefer the Prismas visuals and higher ammo/fire speed but I'm still not getting rid of either gun.

This thread is kind of dead, it seems a crit build is the way to go.

    • Prisma Gorgon DEFINITELY needs a crit build going on. And with the crit build? I think that this weapon will outshine the Gorgon Wraith any day of the week. Also, I recommend instead of putting a Heavy Caliber in there, I would put either Primed Bane of Grineer, Primed Bane of Corpus,  Primed Bane of Infested, or Primed Bane of Corrupted. Accuracy is bad enough on both these weapons. Last thing you want to do is just make them worse.

    • Hey man I just got the prisma gorgon and went to see some build for it. Since I loved the normal gorgon I got it but I went with a critical build. Double forma'd to fit split chamber and serration. Vital sence, hammer shot, metal auger, and rupture. two spare spaces so I kinda wanna keep forma'ing it but since i boudle forma'd it the first day I got it I got burnt out on it not giving me focus.

    • The Gorgon Wraith is best used with a status build and theoretically can strip armor moderately fast, but is probably vastly outshined by the Prisma Grakata's ability to do so.

This thread is a year old and was not about the prisma grakata
