Brutally cut from the Indifference in order to protect the greater whole, its three hands bestow the Void’s twisted blessing upon its allies, so long as they remain attached.

The Severed Warden is a flying MurmurIcon Murmur construct that can be found within Albrecht's Laboratories on Deimos.

Behavior[]

The Severed Warden primarily acts as a support unit. Its primary attack is to project three laser-tethers to three random allied units, granting them 12 Overguard, scaled by The Severed Warden's level. This Overguard rapidly regenerates as long as the allied units remained tethered. All Overguard is removed from the allied unit when no longer tethered.

The Warden's main offensive attack is that it projects a tetrahedron-shaped laser cage over a nearby Tenno that deals continuous damage.

The Severed Warden's body is invulnerable to all damage; only its hands and forearms are vulnerable, and the Warden can only be fully defeated when all three of its arms are broken off. They don't possess a head.

Tactics[]

  • The Severed Warden prioritizes supporting other Murmur units when nearby. Hit any one of its arms to break its Overguard links temporarily, then quickly dispatch the other enemies.
    • Alternatively, lure the Overguarded enemies away from The Severed Warden's line-of-sight to break their protection.
  • When attacking with its laser cage, the Severed Warden telegraphs its attack with laser tethers from its triangle vertices, revealing its point of origin.
  • When left alone or under focus fire, The Severed Warden's self preservation causes it to rotate its three arms and often turn its body away to dodge incoming damage.

Notes[]

  • While the Severed Warden's vulnerable parts will charge Incarnon weapons, they do not count as heads for bonuses that trigger on headshots, such as Knell Knell's Death Knell buff, or Mod TT 20px Argon Scope.
  • Khora's Whipclaw does not effect Severed Warden, seemingly it attacks the main body instead of the limbs.

Patch History[]

Update 35.5 (2024-03-27)

ALBRECHT’S LABORATORIES CHANGES
  • Added new animations to Murmur faction enemies so that they react to Limbo’s Stasis, Rhino’s Stomp, and Mag’s Crush abilities.
Melee Finisher Improvements
  • Added new unique Mercy Finishers to the Severed Warden enemies! Each with their own custom animations to really stick it to the Murmur in style.
    • The context action to perform a Finisher on the airborn Murmur enemies (The Severed Warden) are not anchored to their bodies and will instead appear on the HUD when you are within radius of them. This is an experimental approach into finding ways to include Finishers on other airborne enemies in the future.
