Notes[]

  • Energy cost and number of tethered enemies are not affected by Reactors or Warframe mods.
  • Explosion damage and damage vulnerability are affected by Ability Strength.
  • Duration is affected by Ability Duration.
  • Tether radius and explosion Range are affected by Ability Range.

Tips[]

  • Tether travels forward for about 500 meters before stopping (unless blocked by debris or asteroids), attempting to drag enemies affected toward it as it travels. Unlike Mod TT 20px Shatter Burst or Mod TT 20px Void Hole, reactivating Tether will not cause it to stop in place.
    • Alternately, this can be used to draw enemy ships away from the Railjack during a firefight, or tossed behind the Railjack by a side gunner to slow incoming fighters during evasive maneuvers or travel periods.
  • Can be used as a quick and cheap means to group enemies for Mod TT 20px Blackout PulseMod TT 20px Void Hole, the explosion from Mod TT 20px Phoenix Blaze, or Ordnance. Use caution when combining with Mod TT 20px Munitions Vortex, as the latter will not travel as far as a Tether rocket.
  • Enemies dragged towards the Tether can receive collision damage from debris and asteroids between them and the Tether, which can often prove fatal even in Veil Proxima.

Patch History[]

Hotfix 30.0.8 (2021-04-27)

  • Fixed being unable to activate Tether Battle Mods while using a controller.

Update 29.10 (2021-03-19)

  • Introduced new Plexus Mods to replace functionality of some existing avionics
  • Avionics have been removed
  • Tether Battle Mod (previously Avionic) has been balanced for new gameplay:
    • No longer shoot to destroy.
    • Tethered enemies that die will explode, dealing damage to those around them.
    • Tethered enemies take additional damage from Railjack weapons.
    • Dev Comment: Tether trivialized a lot of the Railjack gameplay flow with how lethal it was toward Fighter units in one-size-fits-all bursts. We want to justify the changes to Tether in the scope of adding new content. Tether would continue to trivialize all phases of Railjack fighter content, so we have made changes to make it more phase-based while still rewarding tactical placement.
