Description

Umbra Forma is a special variant of Forma that can be used to apply an Umbra Polarity to any Warframe or Melee Weapon to reduce the drain of an equipped Umbra Mod.

Using Umbra Forma on Equipment

To apply an Umbra Forma, go to the Arsenal and access the desired rank 30 Warframe or Melee Weapon Mod loadout. Select Action at the bottom of the screen, then choose Polarize, which will show all available types of Forma to choose from. Choose Umbra Forma, which will show a layout of the item's mod slots and polarities. Click on a slot to polarize with Umbra polarity. A slot that already has a polarity (either by default or from a prior polarization) can also be changed.

Notes

• Umbra Forma cannot be applied to Archwings, Archguns, Archmelee, K-Drives, Necramechs, Companions or non-melee weapons, since there are no Umbra Mods available for them, and hence they cannot benefit from a reduced polarity drain.
• Umbra Forma cannot be used to polarize a Warframe's Exilus or aura slot.
• The Helios/Helios Prime weapons (Deconstructor and Deconstructor Prime) are the only Companion Weapons able to utilise Umbra Mods.
• Umbra Forma can only apply Umbra polarity, and cannot be used to apply other polarities.

• Prior to Hotfix 27.3.6 (2020-03-31), Umbra Forma blueprints could be found in Rare Crate spawning inside of Murex ships in Veil Proxima. They were removed due to a "security issue", making Nightwave the only way of getting them at the time. They were reintroduced again in Update 29.5 (2020-11-19) as a Steel Path Honors Shop offering.

• Fixed inability to use Umbra Forma on the Dark Split-Sword.
• Fixed being able to equip Umbra Forma to Sisters of Parvos Hound weapons. (They can’t equip Umbra mods so this was just a trap for the unwary)

• Removed Umbra Forma Blueprint from the Rare Crate drops due to a security issue. Nightwave Series 3: Glassmaker will bring back Umbra Forma as a reward, and we are looking at more secure places to include it back into the droptable.

Hotfix 27.0.3 (2019-12-16)

• We've made a change related to the Umbra Forma Blueprint reward. These are an intentional reward drop for Railjack missions in the Veil Proxima region (harder enemies, better rewards)! Wires got crossed to have it drop on Earth, which is not intentional.
