Notes[]

  • Cannot be equipped with Mod TT 20px Fury (Mod TT 20px Primed).
  • The attack speed buff from Berserker Fury is additive with all other sources of attack speed, including mods and abilities.
    • For example, a full Berserker bonus in combination with Mod TT 20px Spoiled Strike will modify the weapon's attack speed to be 1.0 × (1 - Mod TT 20px 0.2 + Mod TT 20px 0.7) = 150% of its base.
  • Stack duration fully refreshes upon killing and only expires one stack at a time, granting the mod an effective duration of 20 seconds.

Tips[]

  • Berserker will match Mod TT 20px Fury and Mod TT 20px Gladiator Vice in effectiveness with just a single kill, and will surpass Mod TT 20px Primed Fury and Mod TT 20px Quickening with two stacks, making it potentially more valuable than other attack speed mods so long as you sustain the bonus.
  • More effective in missions with high kill rates. Less effective for some bosses where few weak enemies may spawn.

Trivia[]

  • When it was first introduced, Berserker Fury was known simply as Berserker and increased attack speed on critical hits, even if they did not kill. This was changed in Update 30.5 (2021-07-06) as part of a series of nerfs to melee mods as a whole.
    • Prior to Hotfix 13.8.1 (2014-06-19), Berserker would treat melee Stealth Finisher Damage as a critical hit, activating or refreshing the speed bonus. However, despite their damage numbers still displaying as yellow, finishing attacks are no longer automatically considered critical hits.
  • On April Fool's Day 2018, the mod card was changed to read out "MY LOVE FOR YOU IS LIKE A TRUCK!", in reference to the song Berserker by alternative rock band Love Among Freaks. The mod's effects were otherwise unchanged.

Update 30.5 (2021-07-06)

Melee Mod Nerfs

Attack Speed increases for Melee are part of what makes it so dominant. This is especially true when the conditions to reach animation-breaking Attack Speed are as simple as current Berserker: ‘on Critical Hit’. Infinite Attack-Speed Uptime is possible with a single Mod, and the result is animation noise with no distinction between hits, coupled with massive Damage output.

We still want to support the ability to increase your Melee Attack Speed and Damage Output, just not to the levels you currently can.

Berserker is changing from:
+30% Attack Speed (Max 75%) for 24s on Critical Hit

To:
Berserker Fury, cannot stack with Fury.
On Melee Kill: +35% Attack Speed (Max 70%) for 10s. Stacks up to 2x.

This is important because:
- It decouples it from Critical Chance.
- Adds a more defined ramp up using ‘On Kill’ instead of On Crit (which frequently meant 0 to ‘Max’ in one swing hitting 3 enemies).
- Renamed to Berserker Fury to communicate that it can no longer be equipped with Fury / Primed Fury.

  • (Undocumented) Stacks additively with other attack speed bonuses instead of multiplicatively.

Update 10.0 (2013-09-13)

  • Introduced
