The SNIPETRON is a powerful and accurate rifle that sports optical zoom capabilities. Perfect for long range engagements.

A high quality sniper rifle with immense zoom. Extremely good for supports.

Characteristics

Advantages:

• One Template:Vpol slot
• High damage
• Good accuracy when zoomed in.
• 20% critical chance

Disadvantages:

• Slow reload
• Slow rate of fire
• High Recoil
• Average accuracy when fired from the hip
• Small clip size

Acquisition

The Snipetron can be purchased for Template:Credits 50,000 or Template:Platinum 225.

Recommended Mods

• Fast Hands (Reload Speed+), Magazine Warp (Magazine Capacity+)
• Split Chamber (Multishot+) and Damage mods.
• Point Strike(Critical Chance+) or Vital Sense (Critical Damage+)

OR

• Serration (Damage+) on V-Slot (having +165% dmg for 7 points against 14 points without polarity...)
• Point Strike (Critical Chance+), Critical strike chance is pretty high (150% at max level) [NOTE: this brings up total critcal chance to 50%]
• Vital Sense (Critical Damage+), higher chance for better damage. Serration mod will upgrade damage, and Critical Damages are based on base damage.

Tips

• The Snipetron is great for headshots and is very useful against the Grineer.
• With an Armor Penetration mod on it, it will be possible to headshot Corpus box-heads dealing 600 non crit damage or 900 crit damage.
• Always ensure that Snipetron is fully loaded before heading on to further combat.
• Use melee or sidearm against close foes instead of using Snipetron.
• If you use Magazine Warp, upgrade it only to 15%, because the rest is wasted. (it will only carry a maximum of 5 rounds, which is +15% rounded)
• (Optional) Adding a level 1 Cryo Rounds mod (freeze mod/4 points) will allow the slowing of enemies in case first shot is not a killing shot, increasing the ease of headshots with your next shot.
• It is best you go into battle with a maxed point strike mod (Crit chance+++) to give you150% crit chance as well as being able to deal deadly blow while not being able to aim for your enemy's head. NOTE: the 150% is taken from the base crit chance, which is 20%. This does not mean you will have a 150% chance to critically hit! (150% of the base 20% = 50% critcal chance)
• (Optional) Equipping a maxed serration mod will allow for easy kills as well as giving you an edge when enemies are hiding and only a part of their body is seen you will still be able to deliver a killing shot.
• Latron is a more versatile weapon than Snipetron (Fire rate, DPS (if you miss a shot on the snipetron it lowers your damage signifigantly). It should be noted, however, that Snipetron's accuracy (with no zoom) is enough to make it viable close quarters when paired with multishot & damage mods. Having a high base damage of 100 and ~50% crit rate with crit mods, Snipetron can essentially be used as a pseudo-shotgun even without zooming. As a general note, ammo consumption should not be too big of an issue as long as players make full use of their abilities and melee weapons in conjunction with Snipetron. 
• The Bronco makes for an excellent compliment to the Snipetron, covering close range battles where the Snipetron suffers.

Notes

• Bug: [FIXED] As of January 17, 2013, Snipetron is not affected by Max Ammo mods.
