Notes[]

  • Due to the nature of in-game damage calculation and quantization, some melee weapons have such a low base DmgImpactSmall64 Impact value that it is rounded to 0 damage, causing Shattering Impact to not apply. However, for the examples below, each weapon coincidentally deals pure DmgImpactSmall64 Impact on slam hits, allowing certain attacks to reduce armor anyways.
  • Shattering Impact takes effect on every melee hit from weapons with any Impact damage. It has no effect if the melee weapon's Impact damage is zero (for example ranged attacks of Redeemer Redeemer). Note that it is not necessary to proc the DmgImpactSmall64 Impact status effect to trigger the armor reduction.
  • The amount of armor reduction per hit is a flat, constant value, independent of the amount of DmgImpactSmall64 Impact damage inflicted. Since the reduction is applied to the target's base armor, for a given enemy type it will always take the same number of hits to completely drain the enemy's armor, regardless of its level.
  • Shattering Impact is applied before percentage-based base armor strips, such as Mod TT 20px Corrosive Projection, and so the number of shots required to fully strip will be unaffected.
  • Compared to DmgCorrosiveSmall64 Corrosive status effect, Shattering Impact has the ability to reduce a target's armor to 0 permanently, instead of just by 80% for the duration of the status effect. Corrosive, however, only needs 10 stacks of the status effect to achieve this, while Shattering Impact from weapons (other than certain Gunblades which are able to strip armor very quickly - in 2-4 ranged shots) may require a substantially higher amount of hits for the same effect on enemies with high base armor.
  • Shattering Impact is not considered a status effect and hence is able to affect status effect-immune enemies, such as bosses.
  • Shattering Impact does not affect Archons.
  • As of Hotfix 18.1.4 (2015-12-21) Shattering Impact doesn't reduce enemy armor when used with the charge attacks of thrown weapons. The charge attack from a Blade and Whip type weapon will however reduce enemy armor.

Tips[]

  • The mod is most useful either on certain Gunblades (Sarpa Sarpa, and Vastilok Vastilok) that can strip enemy armor in a few ranged shots, or against enemies with low amounts of base armor, and at high enemy levels.
    • Both ranged and Heavy Attacks of these Gunblades and ArumSpinosa Arum Spinosa all fire multiple projectiles that have a portion of DmgImpactSmall64 Impact damage, allowing players to strip armor quickly, and from a safer distance.
  • ValkyrIcon272 Valkyr, VoltIcon272 Volt and GaussIcon272 Gauss, with proper mods, can deplete even high base armor in a short time using Warcry130xWhite Warcry, Speed130xWhite Speed and Redline130xWhite Redline, and a stance with multi-hit combos.
  • The mod is most useful on melee weapons with high attack speed, and on stances which involve applying multiple discrete instances of damage on the same keystroke. Due to its demand for high attack speed, this mod has good synergy with Mod TT 20px Fury, Mod TT 20px Berserker Fury, Mod TT 20px Quickening and Mod TT 20px Gladiator Vice.

Bugs[]

  • This mod does not have a description in the Polish Warframe Client.
  • Very often the armor reduction from Shattering Impact appears to only be able to be applied by the host as the health bar remains yellow for the clients. However, the actual effects from the armor stripping are applicable for the whole squad.
