Rime Rounds is a mod that increases both the damage and status chance of rifles by 15% per rank for a maximum of 60% at rank 3.

Acquisition

• This mod can be acquired as a random end-of mission reward for a successful Spy mission with all 3 Data Vaults hacked.
• Drop Locations (Spy Missions Rotation C):
  • Saturn (Dione)
  • Jupiter (Amalthea)
  • Europa (Valac)
  • Lua (Pavlov)
  • Ceres (Bode)
• Originally this mod could be acquired from Operation Cryotic Front by scoring more than 1000 points in a single mission.

Notes

• Rime Rounds is additive with similar mods. For example, a  Snipetron with a max rank Rime Rounds and  Rifle Aptitude will have a 20% × (1 + 60% + 15%) = 35% status chance.
• This mod can be combined with  High Voltage,  Thermite Rounds, and  Malignant Force to achieve a combined status chance bonus of 240%. With  Rifle Aptitude and  Hammer Shot, this bonus can be increased to 295%, nearly quadrupling the weapon's status chance.

Trivia

• Rime refers to a coating of ice formed on objects when water droplets quickly freeze on a cold object.
• The mod card shows the  Convectrix, which is a shotgun, not a rifle.
