The Rahn Prism (or community-denoted as "4xx")is an Amp component, available as a single-use blueprint from the Quills. It alters the Operator's Void Beam entirely into an automatic rifle with high critical potential, at the expense of status chance.
The blueprint is sold by The Quills for 2,500 at Instrument rank or higher. It is also a possible rank-up reward upon advancing to Instrument rank with the Quills.

Characteristics[]
This weapon deals exclusively Void damage.
Advantages:.
- Innate Void damage – effective against Sentient-type enemies.
- Can reset any damage adaptation built up by Battalysts, Conculysts, and Shadow Stalker.
- Can damage Teralyst, Gantulyst, and Hydrolyst's impervious shields.
- Can destroy the otherwise impervious Vomvalyst's spectral form.
- Can change Profit-Taker Orb's shield weakness.
- High critical chance.
- High fire rate.
- High accuracy.
- High energy efficiency.
- Slow energy consumption, consumes 17 energy/second at base fire rate.
- Can immediately re-enter Void Mode after firing is stopped.
- Does not use ammo pickups; energy regenerates over time.
- Has a 2-second delay after the weapon stops firing before regenerating energy.
- Regenerates 30 energy per second; takes 3.33 seconds to regenerate a fully depleted energy meter.
- Has a 2-second delay after the weapon stops firing before regenerating energy.
Disadvantages:
- Negative ungilded status chance, effectively making this prism unable to proc status effects unless gilded.
- Low gilded status chance.
Notes[]
- The Prism actually has -6% base status chance, the first such weapon with such a property, though it's displayed as 0% in the UI.
- This results in a status chance penalty when any Amp with this part is Gilded (which results in a 4% status chance), or has the Lohrin Brace installed (which results in a 6% status chance as is); with both taken into account any Amp with the Rahn Prism installed has a status chance of 16%.
- On the other hand, the Prism's high critical chance results in a 30% critical chance when Gilded, a 42% critical chance when Gilded with a Lohrin Brace, and a 50% critical chance when Gilded with a Certus Brace.
Tips[]
- With its high critical chance potential and high fire rate, this Prism works very well with Virtuos Strike.
Patch History[]
Update 30.9 (2021-11-11)
- Amp Recipe Reductions
This change is two fold: reduced crafting costs for Amp parts, and reduced Standing cost for purchasing parts. Our goal here is to make constructing an Amp more accessible to players by reducing resource demands. This is rooted firmly in the role upgrading your Amp plays in performing well in main quests like The Sacrifice as well as engaging in Focus Tree related content. Here are the changes below:
- Rahn
- Standing cost reduced from 10,000 to 2,500
- Iradite cost reduced from 60 to 50
- Seram Beetle Shell cost reduced from 3 to 2
- Tear Azurite cost reduced from 30 to 20
- Esher Devar cost reduced from 30 to 15
Hotfix 24.6.1 (2019-04-05)
- Changed Rahn Prism Blueprint to require 3 Seram Beetle Shells instead of Glappid Bait.
Hotfix 24.2.8 (2019-01-15)
- Fixed certain Operator Amp Prisms refilling Energy instantly when all Ammo/Energy is depleted.
Update 23.4 (2018-08-16)
- Introduced.
