Notes[]
- Proton Snap's bonus is additive rather than multiplicative.
Total Status chance = Base Status Chance × (1 + Normal Status Chance Mods) + Proton Snap
- For example, a Galatine with a max rank Melee Prowess, Proton Snap, and Weeping Wounds at a 2.0x combo mulitplier will have a 20% × (1 + 90% + 40% × (2.0 - 1) ) + 50% = 96% status chance.
- Must be equipped to Exalted Weapons to apply to them.
- Fully applies to pseudo-exalted melee skills including Landslide, Whipclaw, Shattered Lash, and Slash Dash.
- Since the bonus is additive, this mod gives the latter two the ability to inflict status effects when they normally cannot, however the status chance bonus doesn't extend to detonating Mass Vitrify.
- In rare cases where stances multiply modded status chance on attacks, such as Iron Phoenix's first hit of Wings and Beak, they will not multiply Proton Snap's bonus.
Total Status chance = Base Status Chance × (1 + Normal Status Chance Mods) × (1 + Stance Status Chance Bonus) + Proton Snap
- The Toxin will combine with other elements according to Proton Snap's mod placement. Because this only applies while Proton Snap is active, it is possible to change elements in the middle of play by activating and deactivating the effect.
- If equipped alongside a Toxin mod or on a weapon with innate Toxin damage, Proton Snap will not allow for changing of elements, and will instead work based on where the first toxin mod is placed (including Proton Snap).
- Proton Snap does not extend its effects to weapons it is not equipped on or abilities.
- Cannot be equipped on Melee Robotic Weapons ( Deconstructor ( Prime), Akaten, Batoten, and Lacerten).
Tips[]
- Most useful on weapons or abilities affected by melee mods with such low base Status Chance that even Weeping Wounds does not have a significant enough effect, or cannot be equipped. For example, when activated this mod will allow Slash Dash to deal Status Effects.
- Useful on Exalted Blade in the case where Chromatic Blade is not in use to keep Slash or other physical damage types, yet have the Status Chance to make use of such.
Trivia[]
- It was first seen on Devstream 124, under the name Spider Venom.
Patch History[]
Update 30.5 (2021-07-06)
- DECONSTRUCTOR MELEE MODDING CHANGES:
The Sisters of Parvos update will bring three new Modular Hound Companions, each with a unique Melee weapon. While reviewing these Companion Weapons, we noticed the Helios-old problem that there’s a lot of Melee Mods that you can equip, but don’t really function on companion Melee. There’s also some ‘invisible gear hopping’ where if you put Mods on your Deconstructor (or Prime), they carry over to your Melee which is a many-year-old oversight we’ve lived with, but are approaching changes more thoroughly with this Update and as a result we’re patching up this behaviour.
These are mostly Mods that deal with combos or heavy attacks, since Companions do not have these features as well as other certain outliers. As a result the following Mods will be incompatible with the upcoming three Hound weapons and retroactively will no longer work with the Deconstructor and Deconstructor Prime:
- Proton Snap
Hotfix 25.4.1 (2019-07-24)
- Fixed issue with Proton Snap showing "|TIME|" instead of duration value in non-English localizations.
Update 25.0 (2019-05-22)
- Introduced.
