Heavy Grineer assault craft; attacks with massive firepower from close range, then disengages while leaving mines behind.

Outriders are Grineer heavy fighters encountered in Railjack missions. They are equipped with heavy armor, making them nearly impervious to standard weapons fire. They can only easily be destroyed with Munitions, or by specifically targeting the glowing weak points located on their fuselage.


Tactics[]

Upon punching in the Outrider will rapidly release mines from the rear which will home in on the selected target. These mines can be shot down before they make contact to prevent damage.

Outriders have high base health which can make their quick destruction difficult. However, the glowing red nodes on the engine pods can be destroyed. Doing so will cause the Outrider to lose a large percentage of its health for every node destroyed. Weapons with an area of effect can easily destroy these nodes and can even trivialize these otherwise potent enemies.

Beware of attempting to kill Outriders that are under the effect of an Exo Crewship healing bubble, as destroyed generators will only take 50% of its health, which can still be recovered by the healing effect, leaving them without weak points. Use AoE effects to safely kill the Outrider or adjust your aim quickly to destroy multiple generators in sequence. Should an Outrider become functionally invulnerable due to all generators being destroyed and being healed, the Tycho Seeker ordinance can be used to dispatch of them with ease, as it detonates every node at once, as well as dealing contact damage.

Trivia[]

  • Outriders appear to be less weaponized versions of the Courier ships found in Archwing Pursuit missions, complete with the same hardpoints for their shield generators.
  • They also appear to be a modified version of the Ogma from Archwing missions.
