Greed. Brutality. Oppression. True stories, all, and the System is full of them. Dreamers? You listening? The System needs you performing your good deeds for the day. Nora needs it. Needs you to act. To change things. Hear the news, Dreamers. Hear it, or be it. Your call. Because in Nora's System, no good act goes unrewarded. This is Nora Night. You're listening to Nightwave.

Alert and Challenge Reward since Update 24.3 (2019-02-27)

Nightwave is a pirate radio station hosted by the enigmatic Nora Night. In-game, Nightwave serves as a unique Syndicate system that offers various player rewards such as Mods, Resources, Cosmetic items and more through the completion of various mission challenges.

Apart from the reward system, Nightwave will also feature various stories that further expand upon WARFRAME's lore through their broadcasts.

Mechanics

Nightwave can be accessed from either the Orbiter's Navigation console, or on the Main Menu, through a banner on the lower right corner of the screen. Alternatively, players can interact with the Orbiter's Radio Scanner to the right of the ramp to access Nightwave.

The Nightwave system consists of daily and weekly challenges that players can complete to earn Nightwave Standing, which is used to rank up through Nightwave's 30 levels (15 in the Intermission), with each level requiring ReputationLarge 10,000 to level up. Every level attained grants unique rewards, with much rarer rewards being available at much higher levels. Unlike with traditional Syndicate standing, Nightwave Standing is only used to increase Nightwave ranking, and any leftover Standing upon leveling up is carried over to the next level.

Upon reaching the maximum rank, players can prestige and reset their rank to 0. Each subsequent rank-up will then only unlock 15 of a special currency called Cred to be spent in Cred Offerings. However, it is not possible doing so in Intermission.

NightwavePrestige

Upon reaching Rank 30, players can reset their rank by earning additional standing

Series

Nightwave's reward system is presented in limited-duration seasons called Series, with each Series featuring its own story and set of level-up rewards themed after its accompanying lore. Each Series lasts for 10 - 11 weeks, and upon completion, all player progress with Nightwave will reset.

A storyless Intermission with reduced duration and ranks and inability to prestige is introduced during long downtime between Series.

Acts

Acts are challenges that players can complete to earn Script error: The function "Syndicate" does not exist.Standing to increase their rank in Nightwave. They fall under three categories of difficulty: Daily, Weekly, and Elite Weekly.

Daily Challenges are introduced daily, with each lasting 3 days, while 5 Weekly and 2 Elite Weekly Challenges are introduced on a weekly basis, and last for 7 days. Apart from the duration, the different Challenge tiers also offer different levels of difficulty, with Daily having the easiest tasks, and the Elite Weekly having the most difficult ones. All Daily Challenges reward ReputationLarge 1,000, Weeklys reward ReputationLarge 4,500 and Elite Weeklys reward ReputationLarge 7,000.

Standing award during Intermission gives Weeklys ReputationLarge 6,000 and Elite Weeklys ReputationLarge 9,000.

Any Weekly and Elite Weekly Acts that have not been completed before the next week's rotation will be put on reserve. After all of the current week's Acts are completed, any missed Acts from previous weeks will be available and marked as Recovered, three at a time. Once all missed Acts have been completed, they will no longer appear, only to be refreshed in future week rotations.

The Emissary Introduction
  • "Dreamers, you know 'bout the Infestation, right? Spreads like a month-old salad with genocidal intent. Swallows everything it touches... makin' monsters from meat, or metal, or both. Well, these days it's mostly contained. Spores as old as stone. Derelicts drifting in forgotten orbits. So it was with old Kenga. Somehow exposed and promptly cast out. Woke up on a blessed cage-drop down to Eris. But, should some sad soul catch the gray-vein, well... every culture has its plague dogma. But maybe there's something more to this 'Infestation', something we all missed. Turns out... Kenga didn't find Void in that hell-nest, no. He found a survivor! Little boy. Arlo. Died three years ago, yet there he was. Lost his voice but gained his life... and somehow... saved old Kenga with the slightest touch of his slender hand."

Mechanics

  • Devotees can randomly spawn in missions after a Tenno is downed. Functioning as allies, they will appear next to the downed player and revive them. They will remain until they die, providing firing support and continue to revive any downed player and even their Companions.
    • Bleedout will always trigger should the Devotee spawn.

Introduction to The Wolf of Saturn Six
  • "It's a bad moon, Dreamers. Can you feel it? Hm. From my perch, at Nightwave, I listen at the windows of the wealthy and well-to-do. Ever heard of Saturn Six? News to me too. Turns out the Grineer have a Max-Pen floating some six leagues deep in the gas. No one knew about it... 'cause no one ever busted out. Until now, right? Some Grineer meathead they started calling 'The Wolf'. On account of him taking up howlin' at night. Decrypts say he was a model prisoner, doing the time. Fabbin' bombs with the rest of his con brothers. Apple of the Warden's eye even. But something cracked, and now he's out there on the loose... the so called Wolf of Saturn Six."
  • "Greed. Brutality. Opression. You're listening to Nightwave."
Nightwave Second Diorama
  • "It's late. You still with me, Dreamers? Soon we'll see the sun curve over the Venusian sky. A hot blue taste. What's keeping you up? For me, it's the gap-waves, all abuzz with the doings of a certain big, bad, Wolf. Why didn't he run? Why didn't he hit that Solar Rail as far as it would take him? Instead, he's stalking those soul-bare, money-huggers 'round Jupiter. My birds are sayin' the Corpus net got flipped. A system-wide message from the Wolf. DELIVER GHARN. Where'd a meathead learn a trick like that? And who's Gharn? Baby, you can guess... he's the Warden of Saturn Six! A big man, too well dressed for his station, too well fed for his rank. And he's in the solar wind too... think he knows how the Wolf came to howlin'?"
Nightwave Third Diorama
  • "An ice-night in Neptune, Dreamers. Hmm. Hold yours close and true, and hey... if you're between stops... Nora knows that mood. But our Wolf... he's not alone tonight. Add this with me: the howler breaks out of Saturn Six. But get this... the howling doesn't stop... someone else takes to singing that cruel song. The Wolf knows why, and it called him back to the scene of the crime. Warden Gharn's little side business. Mmm. Sellin' Grineer lemons for a Corpus squeeze. So freedom's got no hold on the Wolf, does it? No. It's the sisters and brothers from the joint that matter to him.. The pack. We both know what happens next... when a Wolf finds its pack... they hunt. "
Nightwave Fourth Diorama
  • "The message read: GHARN IS YOURS. An anonymous gift. I know what this looks like. But the Wolf's too cold for revenge. The Grineer appoint Wardens for life. The Wolf had no choice but to shorten the term. Not payback, just 'never again'. But it was too easy. Days like these, an easy meal means you're taking someone's bait. Alad V's. The devil in a Corpus cloak. Got the Wolf in an all-new prison, baby. Only this one's not made of bars, it's made of chemicals... hmmm...guess we all know someone like that. The whole lot has been transformed into these 'Amalgam Dogs'... his words. Hybridized, juiced on some Sentient strain. No nice way to put it. I think the pack is coming after you, Dreamers."
Nightwave Fifth Diorama
  • "Passing by that Mercury Junction... shimmering hot, tonight. Word on the grid is the devil's got his due... hmm. Should have known. We saw the signs, didn't we? Sure. The Wolf got tough... tougher. But more than that, the Wolf got smart. Got a pack together. Worked the Corpus crypto. He's his own man now. Leavin' no more tracks. Is this the end? Dreamers, I hope so... but if I were you, I'd keep an ear out... 'cause one of these days you just might hear that howl come round your shoulder. This is Nora Night, signing off. Stay deadly, Dreamers."

Mechanics

  • In addition to Acts, reputation can also be earned by finding and capturing three Saturn Six Fugitives that spawn randomly in missions, granting ReputationLarge 50 per Capture. If the player waits too long before capturing them, they will die and no reputation will be given but it will still count as them being eliminated. A secondary objective labeled "Fugitives Eliminated" will appear when they spawn in a mission. Fugitive groups can spawn multiple times in a single mission. These enemies appear in the "unaffiliated" category in the codex, as despite being Grineer biologically, they are fugitives.
  • The Wolf of Saturn Six can randomly spawn in most missions similar to Assassins, acting as a field boss. He has a 4% chance to spawn in missions below level 20, and 6% for missions level 20 and above.[1] Defeating him has a chance to reward a component for his signature hammer, the WolfSledge Wolf Sledge.

Nightwave Series 2 Changes

Based on your feedback, Nightwave Series 2 introduces a suite of changes to reduce the time and tension of earning rewards. Some of these went live with Nightwave: Intermission, but let’s refresh our minds:

  • Playing Catch-Up! - We added a way for you to replay missed Acts from previous weeks, in case you have missed them!
  • De-grindification! - Less Weekly and Elite Weekly acts, but still giving the same amount of Standing as you would get from Series 1! In addition, we are looking to front-load Emissary Creds as an earlier reward for participating in the Series!
  • Act Changes! - We have lowered the Time and Wave requirements for some Endless Mission Acts, as well as lowering the cost of Ayatan Statues (this was implemented during Series 1). In addition, we have also removed the ‘with friends’ requirements from all of our Nightwave Acts!
  • New Acts! - Including the most important one... petting your Kubrow or Kavat! We also included some Acts for Kuva missions, Transmuting Mods, K-Drive Races and more!

  • Fixed ‘Everything Old is New Again’ and ‘Loyalty’ Nightwave Acts not awarding Standing.
  • Fixed the ‘Silent Eliminator’ Nightwave Act not failing when an enemy detects you, regardless of alarms. Step your stealth game up!

Hotfix 25.1.2 (2019-06-12)
Nightwave: Intermission is now live on all platforms until July 5th at 11:59 PM ET.

What is Nightwave: Intermission?

Nightwave: Intermission is a 15 Rank evergreen reward Intermission! As we work towards content for Series 2, we wanted to release an interim gap to ensure rewards were accessible! Nora Cred can be acquired and used to purchase Nightwave Offerings during this mini-series.

Nightwave: Intermission Rank Rewards:

  1. 100 Nora Creds
  2. 2000 Endo
  3. Robotic Slots
  4. 3 Orokin Cells
  5. Gamma Color Picker
  6. 50 Nora Creds
  7. 10K Kuva
  8. Rift Sigil
  9. 3 Forma Bundle
  10. Orokin Reactor
  11. 50 Nora Creds
  12. 10K Kuva
  13. Orokin Catalyst
  14. Aura Forma
  15. EIDOLON EPHEMERA (not exclusive to this rewards table)

Nightwave: Intermission also brings a chunk of our planned Nightwave changes based on great feedback that were posted in the Dev Workshop, with the exception of ‘New Acts’, as we’re saving those for Series 2! The changes going live include:

  1. Playing Catch-Up: Stored, Missed Acts!
    1. When both Weekly and Elite Weekly Acts are completed for a week, a ‘missed’ Act, 3 at a time, from a previous week will be available to play and complete. Once you have completed all ‘missed’ Acts, they will no longer appear, only to be refreshed in the next week’s rotation.
  2. Degrindification!
    1. Reduced to 5 Weekly Acts and 2 Elite Weekly Acts. While there will be less Acts overall, the rewards for these Acts will increase, so you will earn the same amount of Standing as you would in the previous Episode upon completion.
  3. Changes to Existing Acts!
    1. 'With Clanmates / Friends' Act requirements have been removed completely
    2. Increased Nightwave Standing from Weekly Acts from 3k to 4.5k and Elite Weekly Acts from 5k to 7k.
    3. Reduced required Defense Wave Acts from 40 to 20 Waves.
    4. "Kill Profit Taker with Friends" Act is now just "Kill Profit Taker".
    5. Changed 'Complete 5 Sorties' Elite Weekly to 'Complete 3 Sorties'.
    6. Complete any '60 minute Survival' Act reduced to 30 minutes.
    7. Ayatan Socket requirement for Acts lowered from 5 to 3.
    8. ‘10 perfect Conservations’ reduced to ‘6 different perfect Conservations’.
    9. ‘10 Bounties’ reduced to ‘5 different Bounties’.
    10. Increased the Sanctuary Onslaught Acts from 3 rounds to 8 rounds.
    11. Removed the ‘Sortie with Friends’ Act.
    12. The ‘Hold Your Breath’ Act has been changed to ‘Survive over 30 minutes in a Kuva Survival’.
  4. Changed Nightwave Standing for Weekly Acts from 4.5k to 6k and Elite Weekly Acts from 7k to 9k.
    1. This Standing increase is just for Intermission, in order to allow all 15 Ranks to be achievable in the given limited time duration. Nightwave: Season 2 will have the original change.

A note as to why:

As we count the days until TennoCon 2019, it’s evident that our ambitious goals for this year are needing all hands on deck, literally. Meaning that our plan to launch Nightwave Season 2 before TennoCon is going to be tight - and we don't want the downtime to be too long.

Thanks for your patience - Dreamers.

FAQ

Zahnny said:
Ah, so up until Tennocon. Nice. Do we get 15 creds when we perstiege like last time?

Very good question!

There is no Prestige past Rank 15 in Intermission. Intermission is short, sweet, and simply an interim gap.

Series 2 will have Rank Prestige back.
