Revision as of 17:50, 10 August 2020
Nightwave is a pirate radio station hosted by the enigmatic Nora Night. In-game, Nightwave serves as a unique Syndicate system that offers various player rewards such as Mods, Resources, Cosmetic items and more through the completion of various mission challenges.
Apart from the reward system, Nightwave will also feature various stories that further expand upon WARFRAME's lore through their broadcasts.
Mechanics
Nightwave can be accessed from either the Orbiter's Navigation console, or on the Main Menu, through a banner on the lower right corner of the screen. Alternatively, players can interact with the Orbiter's Radio Scanner to the right of the ramp to access Nightwave.
The Nightwave system consists of daily and weekly challenges that players can complete to earn Nightwave Standing, which is used to rank up through Nightwave's 30 levels (15 in the Intermission I), with each level requiring 10,000 to level up. Every level attained grants unique rewards, with much rarer rewards being available at much higher levels. Unlike with traditional Syndicate standing, Nightwave Standing is only used to increase Nightwave ranking, and any leftover Standing upon leveling up is carried over to the next level.
Upon reaching the maximum rank, players can prestige and "reset" their rank to 0. Each subsequent rank-up will then only unlock 15 Cred, a special currency to be spent in Cred Offerings. Players can only reach up to rank 30 after prestige for a total of 60 ranks (rank 60 after prestige for a total of 90 ranks in Intermission II).
Series
Nightwave's reward system is presented in limited-duration seasons called Series, with each Series featuring its own story and set of level-up rewards themed after its accompanying lore. Each Series lasts for 10 - 11 weeks. All players start a new Series at rank 0, regardless of the ranks achieved in previous Series. Ranks achieved during previous Series can be seen in the Tune In screen of the Nightwave console.
Storyless Intermissions are introduced during long downtime between Series, with variable maximum ranking and duration, and featuring both unique and from previous series rewards, allowing players who couldn't get them when they first appeared to have another chance of doing so.
Acts
Acts are challenges that players can complete to earn Script error: The function "Syndicate" does not exist.Standing to increase their rank in Nightwave. They fall under three categories of difficulty: Daily, Weekly, and Elite Weekly.
Daily Challenges are introduced daily, with each lasting 3 days, while 5 Weekly and 2 Elite Weekly Challenges are introduced on a weekly basis, and last for 7 days. Apart from the duration, the different Challenge tiers also offer different levels of difficulty, with Daily having the easiest tasks, and the Elite Weekly having the most difficult ones. All Daily Challenges reward 1,000, Weeklies reward 4,500 and Elite Weeklies reward 7,000.
Any Weekly and Elite Weekly Acts that have not been completed before the next week's rotation will be put on reserve. Once you have have less than 3 current weekly Acts left to complete, any missed Acts from previous weeks will be available and marked as Recovered, three at a time. Once all missed Acts have been completed, they will no longer appear, and any further Acts can be recovered in the future week rotations.
Possible known challenges for an Act are:

Cred Offerings Store
Apart from the ranking rewards, Nightwave also features a Cred Offering store, where players can purchase various items such as Aura Mods and Cosmetics.
During each series of Nightwave, players can earn an exclusive special Cred currency by ranking up, which are then used to purchase the aforementioned Nightwave offerings. Note that after the end of the particular series, this currency will expire and the next Nightwave series will introduce a new currency to spend. Any unspent Cred after a particular series can be sold from your inventory for 5000 each.
During the downtime between Nightwave series (including Intermissions), the store will be inaccessible until the next series begins.
Cred Offerings
These items can be purchased using Nightwave's current Template:Wc. Note that these items are on 7-day rotation, so not all of them will be offered at any given point.

Mechanics
- Every 24 ± 2 minutes server time a glowing orb spawned while in missions and "glassed" an enemy near it, similar to Void Fissures. The glass fissure was not static: after glassing one enemy it might have disappeared and then reappeared near another group of enemies, seemingly following the movements of the player so that the glassification always happened near them. This process repeated until 5 enemies had been glassed, after which it disappeared until the next 24 ± 2 minutes.
- Glassing could occur on any ground or Railjack mission that isn't a Void Fissure.
- These glassed enemies were invulnerable until the spiky crystals protruding from it were destroyed. Each glassed enemy killed gave 30 standing and had a chance to drop 1 Cephalite Resonance, up to a maximum of 150 standing per appearance.
- Glassed enemies could (and most often did) explode on death, dealing damage to units in their range (both Tenno and enemies).
- Cephalite drops were not affected by Resource Boosters or Resource Drop Chance Boosters.
- However, they were affected by loot abilities ( Desecrate, Prowl) and Warframe Augment Mods ( Ore Gaze, Pilfering Swarm, Pilfering Strangledome).
- The player could not carry more than 20 Cephalite Resonances.
- With each new episode of the Series being released, a new Crime-simula scene could be accessed from the Nightwave menu.
- In this simulation, players could search and examine evidence pieces.
- The text and symbols on these pieces as well as their locations were randomized per player, so the evidence one had differed from the evidence another player had. Each piece of evidence had three variations. It was helpful to collate a screenshot of all evidence frames for easy reference during the Memory Weave.
- Once the key evidence pieces had been found, players were given the choice to enter a Memory Weave at the cost of 5 Cephalite Resonance.
- In the Weave, the player was presented with a series of choices of three platforms, one of which corresponded to each piece of evidence. Choosing the correct platform/evidence unlocked the next choice until all evidence pieces were exhausted. Choosing the incorrect platform/evidence caused the platform to break and the player to fall out of bounds, ejecting them from the Weave. Falling off the edge or missing any platform teleported the player back onto the main platform.
- The order of the questions given was always random.
- The player had 60 seconds to choose and select all correct answers in sequence.
- Abilities and aim gliding could not be used in the weave.
- Failing the weave required the player to repay the "fee" of 5 Cephalite Resonance to retry again.
- After reaching the final platform, the player was rewarded with a "conclusion" piece of evidence and 7,000 standing for completing the Episode's Crime-simula.
- Reattempting an already cleared Crime-simula did not yield additional awards, and still consumed Cephalite.
- Completion of Episode 5's Crime-simula and memory weave transitioned the player into a boss fight with Nihil.
- After completing the memory weave, a crystal appeared in the Crime-simula that lead directly to the Nihil fight. Reattempting the boss fight did not require Cephalite Resonance.
- Completion of other episode's crime-simulas were not required to enter the Nihil fight.
- Defeating Nihil awarded an inbox message containing the Vitrica Blueprint and Nihil's Oubliette Orbiter Decoration.

Mechanics
- In addition to Acts, reputation can also be earned by finding and capturing three Saturn Six Fugitives that spawn randomly in missions, granting 50 per Capture. If the player waits too long before capturing them, they will die and no reputation will be given but it will still count as them being eliminated. A secondary objective labeled "Fugitives Eliminated" will appear when they spawn in a mission. Fugitive groups can spawn multiple times in a single mission. These enemies appear in the "unaffiliated" category in the codex, as despite being Grineer biologically, they are fugitives.
- The Wolf of Saturn Six can randomly spawn in most missions similar to Assassins, acting as a field boss. He has a 4% chance to spawn in missions below level 20, and 6% for missions level 20 and above.[2] Defeating him has a chance to reward a component for his signature hammer, the Wolf Sledge.
- Following Episode 4, the Wolf became Sentient-turned, and has a chance to drop the Saturn Six Mask.
- Toward the end of this series, a Tactical Alert was issued which features an Assassination mission for the Wolf.

Mechanics
- Devotees can randomly spawn in missions after a Tenno is downed. Functioning as allies, they will appear next to the downed player and revive them. They will remain until they die, providing firing support and continue to revive any downed player and even their Companions.
- Bleedout will always trigger should the Devotee spawn.
- Following Episode 3, enemy units called Zealot Heralds and Zealot Proselytizer can spawn randomly in missions or Landscapes. They appear in pairs, and can revive each other when downed. Once both zealots are downed, they disappear and award 50 standing.
- Following Episode 4, the Zealots are accompanied by a Zealot Baptizer and award 200 standing.
- Following Episode 4, Infestation Outbreaks are accompanied by Emissary Derelicts. Completing three outbreak missions on a planet rewards one Zealot Derelict Code, which is needed to enter the Derelict. These missions house two new Infested enemies, the Undying Flyer and Leaping Thrasher, and completing the mission awards 1,500 standing.
- The code can only be obtained once per planet. There are always two Infestation Outbreaks active per day, meaning the two codes can be obtained per day.
- Following Episode 5, Assassination missions can appear as potential Emissary Derelict missions. The boss of the assassination missions is the Zealoid Prelate, which can drop components for the Pathocyst glaive.
