Greed. Brutality. Oppression. True stories, all, and the System is full of them. Dreamers? You listening? The System needs you performing your good deeds for the day. Nora needs it. Needs you to act. To change things. Hear the news, Dreamers. Hear it, or be it. Your call. Because in Nora's System, no good act goes unrewarded. This is Nora Night. You're listening to Nightwave.
Nightwave is a pirate radio station hosted by the enigmatic Nora Night. In-game, Nightwave serves as a unique Syndicate system that offers various player rewards such as Mods, Resources, Cosmetic items and more through the completion of various mission challenges.
Apart from the reward system, Nightwave will also feature various stories that further expand upon WARFRAME's lore through their broadcasts.
Nightwave can be accessed from either the Orbiter's Navigation console, or on the Main Menu, through a banner on the lower right corner of the screen. Alternatively, players can interact with the Orbiter's Radio Scanner to the right of the ramp to access Nightwave.
Mechanics
The Nightwave system consists of daily and weekly challenges that players can complete to earn Nightwave Standing, which is used to rank up through Nightwave's 30 levels, with each level requiring 10,000 Standing 10,000 to level up. Every level attained grants unique rewards, with much rarer rewards being available at much higher levels. Unlike with traditional Syndicate standing, Nightwave Standing is only used to increase Nightwave ranking, and any leftover Standing upon leveling up is carried over to the next level.
Upon reaching Rank 30, players can prestige and reset their rank to 0. Each subsequent rank-up will then only unlock 15 of a special currency called Cred to be spent in Cred Offerings.
Series
Nightwave's reward system is presented in limited-duration seasons called Series, with each Series featuring its own story and set of level-up rewards themed after its accompanying lore. Each Series lasts for 10 - 11 weeks, and upon completion, all player progress with Nightwave will reset. Any unspent Cred will expire after a Series is over.
The current series is The Wolf Of Saturn Six.
Acts
Acts are challenges that players can complete to earn Script error: The function "Syndicate" does not exist.Standing to increase their rank in Nightwave. They fall under three categories of difficulty: Daily, Weekly, and Elite Weekly.
Daily Challenges are introduced daily, with each lasting 3 days, while Weekly and Elite Weekly Challenges are introduced on a weekly basis, and last for 7 days. Apart from the duration, the different Challenge tiers also offer different levels of difficulty, with Daily Challenges having the easiest tasks, and the Elite Weekly having the most difficult ones. All Daily Challenges reward 1,000 Standing 1,000, Weeklys reward 3,000 Standing 3,000 and Elite Weeklys reward 5,000 Standing 5,000.
Different from the similar Riven challenge: Counts total kills not consecutive, so you do not have to kill all enemies in one single slide, but can over multiple ones.
Marking a resource/mod is accomplished by targeting it and pressing the map marker (default G ) key.
Markers can still be placed on ones already picked up by the player (as long as not all of the squad have as well) by marking the residual light pillar (green for rare resources, bronze/silver/gold for mods of respective rarity, purple for blueprint drops).
Reactant is considered a valid resource (despite it being already system marked by default).
Different from the similar Riven challenge: Counts total kills not consecutive, so you do not have to kill all enemies in one single glide but can over multiple ones.
As the challenge only requires Bounty completion the most efficient use would be to continuously repeat the lowest level Bounty due to its low stage/time requirements.
Eidolon Hunt bounties does not count towards this challenge.
Earth Fisher Catch 6 Rare Fish in the Plains of Eidolon
If you have already done the mission recently, it becomes available again 7 days after it was completed. However, other players can take you to their mission, even if yours is on cooldown.
Orokin Vaults are located in any mission in the Orokin Derelict (except Orokin Derelict Defense) and require Orokin Derelict Keys to access them from the Star Chart.
Orokin Derelict Capture is the easiest mission to farm vaults on, as players can quickly kill the capture target and then search for the vault in peace.
Players can equip all 4 Dragon Keys in their gear simultaneously to open these vaults solo. Ensure you have a Warframe that can withstand the lowered health and shields (Inaros is recommended) and a weapon with high damage to compensate for lowered damage output.
Venus Bounty Hunter Complete 8 bounties in the Orb Vallis
Requires presence at completion of all stages of a Bounty to count, so if one loads in after the first stage has already been completed the challenge will not count it.
As the challenge only requires Bounty completion the most efficient use would be to continuously repeat the lowest level Bounty due to its low stage/time requirements.
Players who haven't completed the quest can still complete the challenge by having other players use their Apothics on the shrine (consider the Recruitment Chat channel to find a group).
An Apothic must be placed at the Silver Grove shrine, as in the Silver Grove quest. The shrine can be found in any mission (except Defense) that has the Grineer Forest tileset. Each player can use up to 2 Apothics of one type.
Lotus will tell players carrying an Apothic when the Silver Grove is nearby. The entrance is very small and narrow, so players must search carefully.
Hold Your Breath Survive over 60 minutes without using Life Support Modules in Kuva Survival
The criteria "Without being detected" is different from the Riven challenge modifier with the same wording. For Nightwave the requirement is simply to complete the mission without raising alarms.
Void and Infested Extermination missions do not have any alarm panels.
Only counts the player's relics being unlocked, so a full squad in a Fissure mission will not count for 4 relics.
Note: Each challenge saves/updates its objective automatically with each step, so no progress is lost if a mission fails or is abandoned.
Cred Offerings Store
Apart from the ranking rewards, Nightwave also features a Cred Offering store, where players can purchase various items such as Aura Mods and Cosmetics.
During each series of Nightwave, players can earn an exclusive special currency by ranking up, which are then used to purchase the aforementioned Nightwave offerings. Note that after the end of the particular series, this currency will expire and the next Nightwave series will introduce a new currency to spend.
Cred Offerings
These items can be purchased using Wolf Cred. Note that these items are on 7-day rotation, so not all of them will be offered at any given point.
In addition to Acts, reputation can also be earned by finding and capturing three Saturn Six Fugitives that spawn randomly in missions, granting 50 Standing 50 per Capture. If they die instead of being captured (either through dying while capturing or waiting too long) no reputation will be given but it will still count as them being eliminated. A secondary objective labeled "Fugitives Eliminated" will appear when they spawn in a mission. These enemies appear in the "unaffiliated" category in the codex, as despite being Grineer biologically, they are fugitives.
Ranking Rewards
In the order of ranking and total cumulative standing respectively:
Fixed ability to repeatable collect Convict Standing by Host migrating and re-joining the previous squad, of which we have found a handful of obvious exploiters and will be acting accordingly.
Fixed incorrect number of Convicts being displayed in the HUD after a Host migration (would show 1/4 killed when it should've been 0/3).
Fixed the Nightwave ‘Vault Looter’ description not specifying Orokin Derelict Vaults.
Updated the text string of the Nightwave Act ‘Use Forma x/3 times’ to indicate that this cannot be done in the Simulacrum, as it will not count towards the Act.
Common Nora Night Transmissions can now be disabled with 'enable hint transmissions' in the Audio Options menu.
