The Mitosid is an Infested enemy that resides in the Cambion Drift, Deimos. Split between its torso, its upper and lower halves can separate to form a Basal Diploid and Feral Diploid to divide and conquer. Hunting its prey using vibrations from the surrounding environment, the Mitosid has evolved to physically rip itself in half to survive.
Behavior[]
Mitosids are unpredictable melee fighters, possessing a long range jumping slam and a heavy strike.
Their most prominent trait however their ability to split. When "killed", the Mitosids upper and lower halves separate into a Basal Diploid and a Feral Diploid respectively. Any Diploids in turn are able to recombine into a Mitosid, even with Diploids of the same type.
Notes[]
Mitosids' head is the area where the two halves are connected. All other areas except the head recieve 50% less damage.

Trivia[]
- Mitosid's Prex Card is called Deimos Scissicus.
- Mitosid's name comes from Mitosis, a process that happens when a parent cell divides into two equal daughter cells. This in turn creates two diploids, a reference to a real-life equivalent, as a Diploid cell is an organism that has paired chromosones, one from each parent.
