Komi is an ancient Orokin board game, where two players (white sun and black moon) face-off against each other taking turns placing pieces to try and surround those of their opponent to capture them.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Komi is based on the ruleset of the real life traditional Asian game of Go. The key differences being the significantly simpler size of a 5x5 square board in contrast to the standard 19x19 of Go and the winning condition of capturing three enemy stones instead of surrounding more territory. In Go , "komi" refers to the extra points automatically given to white at the start of the game, meant to offset black's advantage from having the first move.
