Kavor Defector

Kavor Defectors are former Grineer soldiers trying to defect. Previously under General Sargas Ruk's command, the defectors no longer desired to kill, but rather than join with Steel Meridian they decided to live as pacifists under the name Kavor. They are escort targets in Defection missions, first introduced during Operation: The Pacifism Defect.

While escaping from Sargas Ruk, the Kavor's spaceship was struck and overrun by the Infested. Ruk uses this chaos to his advantage by sending Manics to assassinate and make an example of the defectors. In addition, the Red Veil, despite their alliance with Steel Meridian, also seek to capture the defectors in part of their research of the Grineer.

Notes

• Like other allies or rescue targets:
  • They can be healed and can be revived.
  • They can be affected by buffs and abilities, including  Limbo's  Banish and  Nova's , except  Volt's  Speed.

Trivia

• According to the Lotus, the Kavor are too damaged to join Steel Meridian and, thus, decide to start their own peaceful lives.
• As former soldiers, the Kavor are competent combatants, but often fall short in defending themselves, especially at higher tier missions and/or later rotations in a particular mission.
  • The fact that their health are being drained over time, because of infested spore, contributes to this.
• General Sargas Ruk looks down at the Kavor and their affinity toward pacifism as factory defects, due to the fact that all Grineer are clones engineered to be violent and obedient to their superiors.
• Often when meeting the escorting Tenno for the first time, the Kavor would curiously comment "why Tenno would want to help them." This is understandable since the Grineer instills xenophobic culture into its population and Tenno are one of their primary oppositions.
