Icedriver. Comet shard munitions freeze what they hit. That includes us.

Icedrivers are IconCorpusOn Corpus outposts that are attached to a large frozen asteroid, which is mined and hollowed out to create Comet Shards.

They can serve as both a Point of Interest and secondary objective, and can be found in Corpus Empyrean missions.

Features[]

CometShard

Icedrivers are large space-faring Corpus outposts that are affixed to large chunks of ice. These deposits are hollowed out, with the harvested fragments being used as the main component of comet shards.

Each Icedriver has two floors; the first is the main control room where numerous Crewmen can be seen operating the Driver, and a Ranger can be seen welding outside the back window. The second floor is where the Comet Shards are created, and where the player can go inside the frozen asteroid itself.

These fragments are hoisted down from the deposit and brought to the second floor of the main compartment, where they are shaped and tempered in a furnace. After which they are affixed to a steel-covered rocket thruster, and launched at any unfortunate ships.

Comet shards are capable of freezing and icing up their targets. Once hit with a shard, the Railjack will be frozen in place, and will only be limited to shooting the turrets and repositioning.

Sabotage[]

When sabotaging an Icedriver, the player must first interact with a marked terminal to begin a hacking sequence. Numerous Taro Secura Ospreys will spawn, jamming and slowing down the signal. Additionally, electric energy pulses will spawn near the player, which can be avoided.

After the hacking sequence is finished, a Corpus VIP will spawn: either an Optio or Tarask Bursa. Defeating the miniboss and interacting with the final terminal will fully complete the sabotage.

Trivia[]

  • Like the Corpus Ice Mine, numerous Solari can be seen in the hollowed out ice chunk, mining and harvesting its fragments.
