- The helmet is styled after a Tricorne, a style of hat that was popular during the 18th century. It is commonly associated with pirates as the "classical era of piracy" lasted around the same period.
- Triton is the messenger of the sea in Greek mythology, and the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite.
- Triton also shares its name with a node on Neptune.
- The original design is by an artist called Liger Inuzuka, who's known on Warframe as 'Volkovyi'.
