The Hive mission is considered a cousin variant of the regular Sabotage mission. Completing this mission does not count as a "Sabotage" mission for Nightwave, although opening its Resource Caches will in fact count as "Sabotage Caches". This type of mission was first introduced in the Operation Breeding Grounds event, and it now has its own dedicated mission node Naeglar on Eris.
Mechanics[]
This mission, which takes place exclusively on Infested Ships, requires players to destroy three Infested Hives, each protected by five Infested Tumors that must be destroyed before the hive can be harmed. Each Hive destroyed will trigger an environmental hazard depending on the type of Hive destroyed, and will also increase the Infested spawn rate. Only the Gas, Frozen, and Pulsing Hives can appear on the standard version of Naeglar, Eris. The Stabilization, Lancing, and Security Hives can only appear in Syndicate Hive Sabotage missions,
- Gas: Destruction of this hive causes orange Viral clouds to spawn.
- Frozen: Destruction of this hive turns the ship into an ice level, reducing max Shields to 50% of normal values.
- Pulsing: Destruction of this hive causes orange Magnetic bubbles to spawn.
- Stabilization: Destruction of this hive reduces gravity by 50%. (Exclusive to Quest/Syndicate missions)
- Lancing: Destruction of this hive activates laser traps all over the ship which deal Electricity damage to Tenno and Infested alike. (Exclusive to Quest/Syndicate missions)
- Security: Destruction of this hive activates Senta Turrets all over the ship which will fire on Tenno and Infested alike. (Exclusive to Quest/Syndicate missions)
Corpus Resource Caches serve as a secondary objective. There are three caches hidden throughout the map, rewarding up to 2000 objective affinity, based on mission level, as well as an additional item at the end of the mission for each cache discovered.
Locations[]
Target | Planet | Name | Type | Level | Tile Set |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Eris | Naeglar | Sabotage | 30 - 34 | Infested Ship |
Rewards[]
Each tumor node destroyed grants a flat 120 objective affinity to all players within affinity range of the killing player. Hives, which are classed as enemies, scale their affinity rewards based on enemy level but will usually reward about 800 affinity at enemy level 30.
The reward level and count depends on the number of Resource Caches found. In order to receive the third reward, all three caches must be opened.
