Guardsmen are the fifth Grineer melee unit added into the game. They sport a different look compared to other Grineer troops while wielding the Amphis. These units can only be found on Ceres.
Tactics
Claimed to be "Vicious Melee Fighters" by the Lotus, the Guardsmen are true to their description.
- Like traditional Melee units, they will often use rush tactics and overwhelm their targets with quick flurry of strikes.
- These are the only type of Grineer units that can parry attacks in front of them, which makes solo battles difficult as these would simply chase their lone target.
Variant
- Prosecutors are elite Guardsmen hand picked by Councilor Vay Hek and entrusted with the knowledge of his current location.
- The primary aspect of the Prosecutors that makes them unique is the elemental damage system that they use. There are four kinds of Prosecutor, one for each of the four base elemental damage types - Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist., Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist., Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist., and Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist.. They are only vulnerable to that damage type in combat, and will take no damage from other damage types including combined elementals like Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist.. They also project an aura that provides nearby allied units with the same invulnerability to most attacks except the elemental damage type the Prosecutor is vulnerable to.
- In the event that players do not have the necessary elemental damage to attack Prosecutors, they are also vulnerable to Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist. damage, though not to the same degree as the element they are weak to.
- Prosecutors cannot be revived with Nekros's Shadows Of The Dead, preventing players from exploiting their immunity buff.
- When defeating a Prosecutor, they drop one of the following Beacons: Delta Beacon, Gamma Beacon, Kappa Beacon, or Omega Beacon in quantities of 1 to 3. These beacons can be crafted into a Triangulator which used to serve as a key to the Vay Hek Assassination mission (As of Update 15.13, Councilor Vay Hek is now a boss avaible for players with Mastery Rank 5 or higher on Earth), where players can obtain blueprints for the Hydroid warframe components.
- Though Vay Hek no longer requires a Triangulator to fight, Prosecutors still spawn in missions on Ceres, though they now drop mods and Ceres' rare resources (usually Detonite Ampules but also the occasional Orokin Cell) in lieu of beacons.

- There is a second guardsman eximus entry in the codex that only shows a shock prosecutor and can't be completed if the original guardsman eximus entry is completed. (The one that actually shows all four prosecutors)
