By default, WARFRAME's file directory is located in the following file paths on Microsoft Windows:

  • Steam - C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Warframe or C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warframe
  • Epic Games Store - C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Warframe or C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Warframe
  • Standalone launcher - C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Warframe\Downloaded\Public

Cache.Windows[]

Cache.Windows is the folder where all of WARFRAME's assets are stored. Each .cache file will have an associated .toc file paired with it containing a tree structure of the directory with file sizes and offsets in binary data. B caches contain compiled binary content, F caches contain compressed sound and texture assets, H caches contain file headers.

File Compression[]

As of Update 31.3 (2022-03-28), WARFRAME's files and assets are compressed using Bink Video, Oodle compression[1], and Zstandard.
