Erra is a short main quest released in Update 27.0 (2019-12-13), not found in the Codex until completion. This short quest shows the Operator's flashback regarding The Old War, while they witness the events of present time, and introduces Natah's brother, Erra, who is preparing for The New War.

The following article/section contains spoilers. Please finish Chimera Prologue quest before proceeding.

In order to access this quest, the player must have a  Paracesis equipped, whose blueprint is obtained from Chimera Prologue quest. With the Paracesis built and in hand, they must then locate a red crystal within the Sentient tileset in Veil Proxima during Empyrean missions, which requires one Intrinsics Rank 7 skill to access. Once the crystal is destroyed, which can only be done with the Paracesis, the player must complete the mission normally.

Upon returning to the Orbiter, the player will be tasked to inspect their Personal Quarters.

In the Personal Quarters, the player is prompted to touch the Lotus's headgear.

Flashback

The quest starts with a cinematic which shows the downfall of the Orokin Empire during the Old War, as Railjacks are seen combating Hunhow. As Sentients arrive on Lua,  Excalibur Prime tries to destroy them with his  Exalted Blade and a  Burston Prime. Shortly after, he is downed by a Sentient, which then attempts to kill him, only for it to be stopped by  Mag Prime, who is equipped with an  Orthos Prime, and destroyed.

Afterwards, a room on Lua is seen with Orokin Lotus flowers, falling Orokin structure and Lua rocks, destroyed Sentients, fallen Dax soldiers and  Nova Prime, and a surviving female Dax soldier who tries to avoid the falling structure, before being stopped by a humanoid Sentient. Natah, now transformed as the Lotus and accompanied by six Zariman children, among them the player's Operator, shortly arrives on the room and orders the Sentient to let go of the Dax soldier. This Sentient is revealed to be Natah's brother named Erra. Claiming his heart would be broken if he had one, and that his sister is a "god" and a "queen", Erra blames the Zariman children for transforming Natah into what she is.
