CODEX

This Scaldra assault rifle uses an experimental gas laser technology to destabilize Techrot cerebral functions. Alternative fire charges powerful laser shot.

The EFV-0 Somnus is a  Scaldra assault rifle that Inflicts  Puncture damage with a highly accurate fully automatic primary fire while its Alternate Fire charges its underslung laser attachment to fire.

Characteristics

• This weapon deals primarily  Puncture damage.
• Alternate Fire charges for 2 seconds to release  Opticor-like laser beam.
  • Shots are guaranteed to stagger enemies and briefly open them up to finishers.
  • Can be fired with roughly half a maximum charge, but with less damage.
  • Beam has a width of 0.4 meters.
  • Consumes 20 ammo per shot.
  • Beam has a guaranteed  Gas proc.
• Innate two polarities.

EFV-0 Somnus's blueprints can be purchased from Minerva of  The Hex for Standing Standing Standing; component blueprints for 5,000 Standing 5,000 and the main blueprint for 15,000 Standing 15,000 to a total of 30,000 Standing 30,000, all requiring Rank 5 - Pizza Party.

This weapon is also part of the Scaldra Dominance Pack for 655 Platinum 655.

Trivia

• The EFV-0 Somnus seems to be a modified version or variation of the  AX-52, sporting a near identical receiver, with a different stock, added Efervon tubing, an extra support piece above the barrel, and a laser attachment below the barrel.
• Gas laser is a real-life technology in which an electric current is discharged through a gas (pressumably Efervon in the case of the weapon) to produce coherent light.

Bugs

• The name is inconsistently displayed as either EFV-0 Somnus or EFV-8 Somnus in Arsenal and Inventory menu.
