A writhing tower of flesh and gristle, the Jugulus lurks beneath the surface and emerges to launch streams of organic projectiles from its wide maw.

The Deimos Jugulus is a towering stationary Infestation w Infested enemy that pops up out of the ground around the Cambion Drift, Deimos.

Behavior[]

The Deimos Jugulus hides underground until a player is nearby in which their upper body emerges. They attack by spitting an explosive glob of mass from its maw and shooting bone glaives from its neck that deal DmgSlashSmall64 Slash damage. Occasionally they also shoot spikes from the ground where the player is standing on, staggering them. After taking a considerable amount of damage, the Jugulus will retreat underground and relocate somewhere away from the player.

After not taking damage for 10 seconds, the Jugulus will start to regenerate 2% of max health per second.

Damage Reduction[]

Deimos Jugulus possess Damage Reduction that scales depending on your weapon's DPS excluding critical hits. DPS is calculated by

Critical Hits are applied after the damage resistance is calculated. Additionally, the average DPS is calculated using all health/shield modifiers, other sources of damage reduction, and is quantized.

A graph is available here: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/htrjngyeyb

For Proc Damage, Critical Hits are taken into account.

Where the Proc Damage is the per tick Damage of the corresponding Proc, with Health/Shield/Armor Modifiers taken into account. Note that unlike the DPS controller for normal Damage, the one for Proc Damage takes Critical Hits into account. For Heat Procs, the Proc Damage in the above formula is the accumulated value of all the previous Heat Procs.

Encountered within Isolation Vault pit monsters. Possesses very high health regeneration, but lacks the bone glaives of its common counterpart. Its neck instead has weakpoints that can be destroyed to disable its regeneration.

Notes[]

  • Most of the Jugulus's attacks are considered to be melee attacks, reducing the effectiveness of abilities that protect against projectiles.
  • Has immunity to DmgViralSmall64 Viral status.
  • The upper body parts do not take into account sniper's damage multiplier from combo, leading to reduced damage.

Trivia[]

  • Deimos Jugulus was first revealed in TennoCon 2020 under the name Infested Bone Blade.
  • The Deimos Jugulus's glaives appear to be very closely modeled after the Glaive from the movie Krull.
