Viral b Viral Damage is one of the six secondary elemental damage types, composed of Cold b Cold and Toxin b Toxin elements. It deals increased damage against IconGrineerBGrineer and IconCorpusBCorpus bodies, but reduced damage to most light Infestation bInfested foes.

Status EffectEdit


The status effect of Viral b Viral damage is Virus. It amplifies damage to the health of the afflicted target by 100% for 6 seconds. Subsequent procs add 25% increased damage to health up to 325% in total after 10 stacks, with each proc having their own duration.

Enemies afflicted by a Viral b Viral proc are coated in a green substance.


Viral b Viral does not have an Empyrean counterpart and is thus not able to proc any status effect nor is it included in calculations for status proc weighting.

  • The status effect of Viral damage can mitigate the reduction of damage to Infested foes after a proc is applied, making it effective especially in combination with Heat b Heat, Electricity b Electric, or Gas b Gas damage over time effects.

  • New Status Effect entirely: enhanced Damage! First Viral Status Effect deals 100% additional Health damage, subsequent Viral Status add +25% for a total of 325% (capped).
    • Note: Before Viral would halve a target’s health pool and simply refresh the duration. Now it deals 2x Damage to Health, and can scale up to 4.5x Damage on repeat Status Effects.
