The initial Cross Platform Save rollout began on December 18, 2023 starting with only Founders accounts (Update 35.0 (2023-12-13)).[2][3][4]

Official FAQ[]

Sourced from https://www.warframe.com/news/cross-platform-save as of 19:44, 1 January 2024 (UTC).

Q: What do you mean by Cross Platform Save?[]

Cross Platform Save functionality allows players to use their Warframe account Progression — including Items, Customizations, Quests, etc. — from a single Cross Platform Save Account across multiple different gaming platforms.

Q: What is a Cross Platform Save Account?[]

This simply refers to any Warframe account that has undergone Linking or Merging in order to connect two or more accounts for use in Cross Platform Save.

Q: What is Account Linking?[]

Linking will allow you to select one Warframe account as your Primary Account. You may use the progress and purchases of that Warframe account back and forth across multiple different platforms.

For example, a player may mark their PC account as the Primary Account and Link it to their PlayStation account. The PC progress will permanently override the existing PlayStation account, resulting in a Warframe Cross Platform Save account that can be used on both PC and PlayStation.

Note that Account Linking is permanent. Once a unified Warframe Cross Platform Save Account is created, you will no longer be able to access any Linked accounts’ progress or Inventory aside from those of the Primary Account.

Q: What is the One-Time Account Merge?[]

The One-Time Account Merge is an irreversible method of combining Items, Customizations, Resources and Currencies across multiple accounts into a single account. The newly connected accounts will then act as a single, unified Warframe Cross Platform Save Account available to use on any platform you choose to connect via Account Management.

When you choose to Merge, you select one of your Linked accounts to be the Primary Account associated with your Mission and Quest progress. Your Resources, Arsenal, Currencies, etc. from other Secondary Accounts will be Merged into your Primary Account. Progression on your Primary Account will be the same as it was before the Merge.

For example, if a player has 100,000 Credits on a PC account and 100,000 Credits on an Xbox account, performing a One-Time Account Merge will combine these two accounts into one — creating a new, unified account with a combined total of 200,000 Credits that can be used on PC or Xbox. The same is true for most Resources, Items and Customizations (with limited exceptions outlined below).

Only accounts created before November 24 at 2 p.m. ET, which did not previously undergo a PC-to-console account migration, will be eligible to Merge.

Note that the One-Time Account Merge is permanent. Once a unified Warframe Cross Platform Save Account is created, you will not be able to retrieve your previous accounts as they existed before the Merge!

Q: How do I perform a One-Time Account Merge instead of Linking?[]

Eligible accounts will automatically undergo the One-Time Account Merge instead of Linking when you connect your Warframe accounts.

Q: What do I need to do before connecting my Warframe accounts?[]

You must first have or create a PC Warframe account. From there, you will be able to Link or Merge one account at a time to that PC account, turning it into a Cross Platform Save Account. Additional platforms can then be Linked or Merged to this Cross Platform Save Account, one platform at a time, until all desired accounts are connected.

While a PC account is a necessary component in creating a Cross Platform Save Account, you do not need to download or play Warframe on PC in order to use your Cross Platform Save Account.

Q: How many accounts can I connect?[]

You can only Link or Merge up to one account from each platform into your Cross Platform Save Account from Account Management. You can access your Cross Platform Save Account on any platform. This will include PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch at launch. The iOS and Android versions of Warframe will also be compatible upon their release.

Q: Are there any restrictions for Linking or Merging?[]

Only accounts created before November 24 at 2 p.m. ET, which did not previously undergo a PC-to-console account migration, will be eligible to Merge. Any Warframe account that was previously involved in a PC-to-console account migration to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch is ineligible for a One-Time Account Merge. However, these accounts can still be Linked normally and participate in Cross Platform Save.

Q: Why are accounts previously involved in an account migration ineligible for the One-Time Account Merge?[]

In all past account migrations, copies of the original accounts were created for the newly introduced platform. This means that any migrated account has two versions in existence. Previously these existed in separate ecosystems, but with Cross Platform Save they occupy a single Warframe ecosystem.

Accounts involved in migration cannot be remerged into each other or Merged into any other account due to another version of the account and its inventory existing.

While these accounts cannot be Merged, they can still take part in Account Linking. Selecting the Warframe account you wish to prioritize as your Primary Account will allow you to access it across all platforms.

Q: Are there any restricted Items that will not be combined during the One-Time Account Merge?[]

Yes. Restrictions include Platinum purchased on Nintendo Switch, platform exclusive skins that will not be available on PlayStation, TennoGen purchased after November 24 at 2 p.m. ET and certain PC exclusives.

Any Platinum purchased on Nintendo Switch Warframe accounts will not be accessible on other platforms. On PC, Xbox and PlayStation, you will have a shared wallet, meaning that Platinum purchased on those platforms will be available across those platforms.

You may still access and spend your Nintendo Switch Platinum while logged into your Warframe Cross Platform Save Account on Nintendo Switch. Any Items or Customizations purchased with this Platinum will also be automatically accessible while logged in on other platforms. However, you must log in via the Nintendo Switch to spend any Platinum specifically purchased on that platform.

Platform exclusive Skins like Opal Skins on Switch, Amethyst Skins from Discord and Jade Skins on Xbox will not transfer to PlayStation during the One-Time Account Merge. In addition, PC exclusives such as the Phased Skins, Rubedo Skins, IAHGames Braton Skin and Rixty MOL skin will not be available on PlayStation. Conversely, PlayStation Obsidian Skins will not be available to use on platforms other than PlayStation.

TennoGen Customizations will be accessible via Cross Platform Save depending on the platform they were purchased on. Refer to the “How are my TennoGen Items affected by Cross Platform Save?” question for more details.

Excalibur Prime, Skana Prime and Lato Prime will be locked to PC.

Q: Are premium purchases affected in other ways?[]

Account Linking only maintains the progress and previously acquired Items of your Primary Account — including premium purchases. This applies to any scenario in which accounts are ineligible for a One-Time Account Merge, such as Linking two accounts created after the cutoff date.

Q: How are my TennoGen Items affected by Cross Platform Save?[]

Any TennoGen purchases made before November 24 at 2 p.m. ET will transfer to any platform as a result of the One-Time Account Merge. That means the pieces that are already a part of your collection will be available to you on any platform you play on.

TennoGen purchases after November 24 at 2 p.m. ET will be affected depending on the platform it was purchased on. Steam purchases are locked to PC, and console purchases will be locked to all (licensed) console platforms.

Our intention with these decisions is to limit the impact to TennoGen Artists, while respecting historical console purchases. For more details, refer to our TennoGen – Cross Platform Save Forum post.

Q: Can I trade across platforms?[]

Yes, you are able to trade with players on different platforms (depending on those players’ Cross Platform settings). Trading will function the same as gifting, except for trading Platinum between Nintendo Switch and other platforms, which is not available.

To make sure you can trade with friends or fellow Tenno across platforms, make sure you are using a Cross Platform Save Account (or PC account*) and have Cross Platform Play enabled via your in-game settings. TennoGuard 2FA is required to trade in-game items with fellow Tenno in Warframe, which can be enabled via the Account Management page.

  • PC accounts can automatically trade with players on other platforms — provided that both players still have Cross Platform Play enabled in their settings and that any non-PC player trading with them has a Cross Platform Save Account.

Q: I did not create a PC account before the cutoff date. Can I still Merge multiple console accounts?[]

Yes, provided the console accounts you wish to include in the Merge were created before the cutoff date and also were not created through a previous PC-to-console account migration.

You will first need to create a new PC account. After that, you must Link it to whichever console account you are choosing as the Primary Account (allowing you to use its Progression). This will create a unified Warframe Cross Platform Save Account. You can then Merge the remaining console accounts with your newly created Cross Platform Save Account as you would normally.

Q: Is the One-Time Account Merge available forever?[]

No. One-Time Account Merges will only be available for a limited time. The ability to Merge will close at a later time with a one-month warning before the end date. However, Account Linking will remain available in perpetuity and will always allow for Cross Platform Save.

Q: How will I know if I have successfully Linked or Merged my accounts?[]

You should receive a confirmation popup message that confirms your accounts have been successfully Merged or Linked. You will also be able to see your Cross Platform Save Account status in your Account Management page.

Q: What platforms currently support Cross Platform Save?[]

At the launch of this update, every available version of Warframe supports Cross Platform Save. This includes PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.

Q: Will my personal data be processed after I download?[]

Patch History[]

Hotfix 36.0.1 (2024-06-19)

  • Fixed cases where players would be unable to add friends, set friends as favorites, receive friend requests and/or edit notes on friends after merging/linking accounts for Cross-Platform Save.

Hotfix 35.5.8 (2024-04-24)

  • Fixed Clients being unable to load into Maroo’s Bazaar and disconnecting from a squad where all members do not have Cross Platform Save enabled.

Update 35.5 (2024-03-27)

  • Cross Platform Save players who have not received their Synkra Syandana after attempting to update their email address before Hotfix 35.1.2, now have it in their accounts with this update!
  • Fixed Helminth flower placement using the locations chosen from a player’s Cross Platform Save PC account, even if they had chosen a Console account as their primary.

Hotfix 35.1.2 (2024-02-28)

Cross Platform Save Change:
  • Changed how the Synkra Syandana is delivered based on Cross Platform Save linking status:
    • Prior to this Hotfix, the Syandana was exclusively rewarded for including an email address in the Console “Account” tab in Settings. Now, once a player has linked a Console account, they will automatically receive the Synkra Syandana instead of going through the aforementioned steps.
      • Note: Console players who have not linked accounts will still be able to receive the Synkra Syndana by adding their email address in the “Account” tab in Settings (full steps on how to do so here).
    • Moving forward, the email address option will no longer appear for Cross Platform Save Console accounts. This is so that we can prevent potential issues associated with being able to change your email address to something other than your PC account’s address (which is required to retain your PC login access).
    • For Cross Platform Save players who have not received their Synkra Syandana after attempting to update their email address before this Hotfix, the Dante Unbound Update in March will deliver it to you once it has launched.

Hotfix 35.1.1 (2024-02-21)

Cross Platform Play/Save Changes & Fixes:
  • Founders items can now be accessed on platforms other than PC from Cross Platform accounts.
    • We want to thank our Founders for their continued support from the start and are honored to have them here with us to enjoy Cross Platform Play and Save almost 11 years later! We greatly appreciate our day 1 supporters and thoroughly enjoy seeing them continue to sport their Founders gear. If you still can’t access your Founders items from your Cross Platform accounts after this Hotfix, please submit a ticket to support.warframe.com.
    • Note: The Excalibur Prime Dark and Bright Glyphs are not accessible at the moment, but we will have a follow up fix to ensure they are in the near future!
  • Fixed the PlayStation-exclusive Obsidian Syandana being visible and equippable from the Drifter Clothing menu on other Platforms via Cross Platform Save.
    • To learn more about Cross Platform Save exclusions (including platform-exclusive items such as the Obsidian Syandana), visit the Cross Platform Save information post.
  • Fixed players who linked their iOS account for Cross Platform Save not receiving the iOS Pre-Order / Day 1 Rewards (Bombyx Syandana and 3-Day Affinity Booster) in their Cross Platform Save accounts.
    • For affected accounts, an inbox message containing the rewards will be delivered after downloading this Hotfix and logging in.

Update 35.1 (2024-02-20)

Cross Platform Play/Save Changes & Fixes:
  • Fixed being unable to progress in the Awakening Quest after Merging an account that had completed with an account that hadn’t yet.
  • Fixed Exalted Weapons losing their progress after merging accounts.
    • Since a Warframe can only have a singular Exalted Weapon, the Primary account would override the Secondary’s Exalted Weapon progress, regardless of its state. Now, when accounts are merged, the account with the Exalted Weapon that has more Forma and Rank/Affinity will be prioritized.
  • Fixed the warning pop-up informing players that they cannot trade Platinum with Nintendo Switch accounts (as intended with the Platform specifications for Cross Platform Trading & Gifting) stating that the trade has failed instead of specifying why.
    • This would occur specifically when adding Platinum to the Trade window after another item or after attempting to add it a second time.
  • Fixed cases where players would not be properly Host Migrated if the Host was on a Console platform.
  • Fixed having both an incubating and equipped Companion active at the same time after merging an account that is Incubating a Companion with an account that has a Companion equipped.
    • Now, when merging accounts in these states, the equipped Companion will be unequipped.
  • Fixed players on other platforms being unable to add an Xbox player as a friend if they had spaces in their alias.
  • Fixed a rare issue where the "You are already logged in. Login here and terminate the other connection?" message would pop up repeatedly after linking a Console account to a brand new PC account and using the Companion App.
  • Fixed Operator/Drifter Configs not retaining their assigned customizations after making a Console account the primary during merge. This would often appear as if Config A’s customizations had been copied over to all Configs.
    • Any future merges will now take the primary account’s Configs. For existing merges, the Configs have been reverted to those from the primary account.
  • Fixed case where you could end up with more Loadouts than Loadout Slots after merging accounts.
    • This was caused by Loadout Slots from the Initiate Power Pack and those from Mastery Ranks not carrying over into the merged account. Players would see, for example, “SLOTS 4/3” in the Loadout screen after merging.
      • Note: Merged accounts that were created from an account with the max amount of purchasable Slots (24) with one that also had a lot of Loadouts will likely still have more Loadouts than Slots even with the above fix. These Loadouts are still accessible/usable, but in order to create new Loadouts you will have to get below the 24 Slot limit by deleting some.

Hotfix 35.0.10 (2024-01-18)

  • Fixed case where a merged account could be a member in two different Clans.
    • This was caused by merging a Console account in a Clan with a PC account that has a pending Clan request that was accepted after the merging. Affected accounts have been returned to the Clan they were in on their Console account prior to the merge.

Hotfix 35.0.9 (2024-01-17)

  • Fixed a primary account being automatically selected for you if either of the accounts being linked had been created after the merge cutoff date (November 24 at 2 p.m. ET).
    • Now in the case where both accounts were created after the cutoff, you can now choose either as the primary during the linking process. This only applies to first time linking (as has been the case since launch) - once the PC account has had other accounts linked in, that PC account is set as the primary.
  • (Hot-dropped on Monday) More fixes towards various issues (ex: being unable to equip/unequip Kubrow) occurring when merging accounts that both have Kubrows in various states (incubating, incubated, etc.). To prevent further issues, newly merged accounts automatically put 1 of the 2 Kubrows into Stasis.

Hotfix 35.0.7 (2024-01-09)

  • Fixed rare instances where selecting an account that has not completed Vor’s Prize as your primary during the merging process would cause progression issues for the merged account.
  • Fixed rare case where merged PC and Console accounts that were in the same Clan would no longer be a member of it in the merged account.
    • If you have experienced this and would like assistance returning to your Clan, you can submit a ticket to support.warframe.com.
  • Fixed rare case where TennoGen purchases made via the Steam Workshop would be incorrectly locked to a player’s Console account instead of their PC account (as intended) if the player was logged in on Console at the time of purchase.
    • We are working on a script to correct this for affected players.
  • Fixed Companion Incubation not progressing after merging two accounts that both had a Companion active. Moving forward, new merges will automatically move those Companions into Stasis to avoid this issue.
    • If you have experienced this issue and need assistance in regaining access to those Companions, you can submit a ticket to support.warframe.com.

Hotfix 35.0.6 (2023-12-22)

  • Fixed the inability to Merge your Console account if you had to make a new PC Account after the November 24th cut-off date in order to Merge.
    • If you encountered the issue and did not link the accounts, the website should now say the accounts will be merged
    • If you encountered the issue and did link the accounts, please contact support
  • Fixed some Merged accounts not getting various Quest inboxes which resulted in an inability to start the Quests.
  • Fixed Helminth abilities from the merged account being unlocked on the Primary Account. Helminth abilities are determined by the chosen Primary Account.
