An ancient weapon designed by the Entrati for use by their Necramechs. Primary fire siphons life essence from the target to fuel a devastating alt fire. A heavy flamethrower with surprising range. Alt fire launches three projectiles in a fan pattern that explode, leaving a damaging area of effect for a short duration.

The Cortege is an Script error: The function "Faction" does not exist. Era weapon created by the Entrati, a beam Arch-gun that builds charges on kills to allow use of the Alternate Fire, a trio of grenades that leaves lingering flames.

Characteristics

This weapon deals primarily Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist. damage on its primary fire and Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist. damage on its Alternate Fire.

Advantages:

  • Primary fire releases a flamethrower-like beam.
    • Innate Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist. damage – effective against Cloned Flesh, Infested, and Infested Flesh.
    • High critical chance.
    • Second highest status chance of all Arch-guns, behind Arquebex Arquebex/Mausolon Mausolon.
    • High fire rate.
    • Pinpoint accuracy.
    • Consumes 0.5 ammo per tick of damage.
    • Beam has a thickness of ? meters, and the zone of impact or maximum beam range has a spherical blast radius of 3 meters, allowing it to hit multiple enemies at once.
    • No damage falloff in Archwing Mode.
  • Alternate Fire releases a trio of grenades that explodes in an 4 meter radius on impacting a surface or when remotely detonated with Alternate Fire, leaving lingering flames that deal continuous damage for 10 seconds.
  • High magazine size.
  • Innate Script error: The function "Pol" does not exist. polarity.

Disadvantages:

  • Primary Fire:
    • Innate Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist. damage – less effective against Proto Shields.
    • Below average critical multiplier.
    • Damage ramps up from ?% to 100% over 0.6 seconds when firing. After firing stops for 0.8 seconds, the damage decays back to ?% over 2 seconds.
    • Limited range of:
      • 380 meters in Archwing Mode.
      • 28 meters in Atmospheric Mode.
  • Alternate Fire:
    • Innate Script error: The function "Proc" does not exist. damage – less effective against Ferrite Armor and Infested Sinew.
    • Requires 5 primary fire kills to charge a gauge and cannot fire without a full gauge.
    • Extremely low fire rate, causing a long pause after firing.
    • Projectiles have travel time with heavy arcing.
    • Explosion inflicts self-stagger.
    • Explosion has linear damage falloff from 100% to 70% from central impact.
  • Slow reload speed in Atmospheric Mode.

Acquisition

The Cortege is acquired by reaching the rank of Clearance: Odima with the Necraloid. The main Cortege blueprint is offered as a rank up reward, but Loid sells additional main blueprints for ReputationLarge 8,000. Component blueprints are ReputationLarge 4,000 each and can be acquired after reaching Clearance: Modus with the syndicate. It comes with a pre-installed Gravimag.

Additionally requires the rank of Visitor by Ostron in order to acquire Fersteel Alloy required in its construction.

The Damaged Necramech Weapon parts are acquired from Normal and Arcana Isolation Vault Bounty rewards, and can be traded between players.

Trivia

  • Cortège is a French term referring to processions. Its antiquated use as a loaned word in the English language though equated it with funeral processions exclusively.
  • During the Heart of Deimos quest, the enemy Necramech wields a Cortege during cutscenes, and at one point fires Mausolon Mausolon-like full-auto rounds. However, when fought it is armed with a Mausolon instead.

Update 29.6 (2020-12-18)

  • Cortege can be purchased in the Market for Platinum. Necramech’s also have their own category in the Market!
  • Fully crafted components for the Necramech/weapons are now tradeable.

Update 29.5 (2020-11-19)

  • Cortege Changes:
    • Increased range from 24m to 28m.
    • Added Punch Through to the Cortege’s primary fire against enemies (will not penetrate level geometry).

Hotfix 29.0.8 (2020-09-10)

  • Fixed Cortege prompting to install a Gravimag first as opposed to a Catalyst. This weapon comes with a Gravimag pre-installed, it will only ask you for a Catalyst if you wish to add one.

  • Fixed Cortege doing incorrect Damage type in Heavy Weapon mode.
