Armor Removal Interactions[]

General[]

  • This mod stacks additively with itself when multiple teammates are using it, reducing enemy armor up to 72% with a 4-player squad.
    • Armor reduction from this aura maxes out at 80%. This can be achieved by having all squad members equipping this aura with at least three squad members equipping Mod TT 20px Coaction Drift too.
  • Armor reduction stacks additively with Warframe abilities that reduce armor, such as FusionStrike130xWhite Fusion Strike and Terrify130xWhite Terrify
    • For example, when Corrosive Projection is equipped, after a single cast of Terrify130xWhite Terrify, an enemy will have 100% - 18% - 60% = 22% armor remaining.
  • The effectiveness of this mod is reduced under the "Augmented Enemy Armor" Sortie condition.
  • Currently, the only non-ability method to completely remove armor is to use Mod TT 20px Shattering Impact, Mod TT 20px Sharpened Claws or a dagger in tandem with Mod TT 20px Amalgam Argonak Metal Auger. It should be noted that using Corrosive Projection is multiplicative with these mods and thus will not cause them to strip armor faster.

Status Effects[]

When Corrosive Projection is combined with the status effect of DmgFireSmall64 Heat and DmgCorrosiveSmall64 Corrosive, the armor reduction is multiplicative. This can be expressed as the following:

Armor after reduction = (1 - 50%) × [1 - (20% + 6% × Number of Corrosive stacks)] × (1 - 18% × Number Corrosive Projections)

For example, a full 4-player squad with max-rank Corrosive Projections, an active DmgFireSmall64 Heat proc, and max stacked DmgCorrosiveSmall64 Corrosive proc will result in an enemy's armor being reduced to:

(1 - 50%) × [1 - (20% + 6% × 10)] × (1 - 18% × 4) = 2.8%.

If only one player has a max-rank Corrosive Projection with the above statuses, an enemy's armor would instead be reduced to:

(1 - 50%) × [1 - (20% + 6% × 10)] × (1 - 18%) = 8.2%.

Tips[]

Trivia[]

  • Corrosive Projection was originally obtainable during Artifact Defense Event from special alerts, and is now available to be bought with Creds from Nightwave Offerings.
  • At the time of release, Corrosive Projection decreased enemy armor by 5% each mod rank up to 30% reduction.
    • Prior to Damage 2.0, if all 4 players in a squad each used a fully-ranked Corrosive Projection, this would result in negative armor values (a 120% reduction) and all damage dealt by the cell would be reduced to 1. This was fixed by capping the maximum armor reduction to 100% before Update 27.2 (2020-03-05) reduced the armor reduction to 3% per rank.
  • As with Mod TT 20px Enemy Sense, the mod card still depicts a Shield Lancer armed with a Sicarus Sicarus.

Patch History[]

Update 27.2 (2020-03-05)

Faction Aura Changes

We are rebalancing the faction Auras to not completely bypass our rebalancing effort. More importantly though, with the complete rescale these Auras (mostly Corrosive Projection) will not be as necessary as they were.

Corrosive Projection, Shield Disruption and Infested Impedance new Rank values are:

  • Unranked: -3%
  • Rank 1: -6%
  • Rank 2: -9%
  • Rank 3: -12%
  • Rank 4: -15%
  • Rank 5: -18%

Why: We think being consistent is key. Passively removing 100% of an enemy's defenses is not an interesting choice, and we were completely inconsistent in this regard with Auras (i.e the efficacy of 4x Corrosive Projections vs 4x Shield Disruptions).

Update 25.1 (2019-06-05)

  • Fixed enemies spawning being uneffected by Corrosive Projection Aura worn by players in the Rift at the time.

Update 9.0 (2013-07-13)

Update 8.0 (2013-05-23)

  • Introduced as part of the Artifact Defense Event.
