A scavenger that feeds on carcasses found on the plains.

Condrocs are scavenging birds of prey native to Earth. Like real-life vultures they form into groups know as committees and feed on the corpses of other, already dead, creatures. They will still occasionally hunt and kill small prey such as Kuaka, however. Condrocs lack subspecies, instead being identified by their role.

VariantsEdit

Common CondrocEdit

CondrocCommon

As their name implies, Common Condroc are the easiest type to find on the Plains of Eidolon. Their primarily carcass-based diet helps prevent disease epidemics in the local wildlife, though they are capable hunters if need be.

When captured via Conservation they will reward the following:

Perfect Good Bad

Rogue CondrocEdit

CondrocUncommon

Rogue Condrocs are uncommon birds found on the Plains of Eidolon. These condroc have abandoned their committees in favor of actively hunting prey, upsetting the ecosystem by destroying Kuaka and Mergoo nests.

When captured via Conservation they will reward the following:

Perfect Good Bad
ReputationLargeBlack1,200 ReputationLargeBlack900 ReputationLargeBlack600

Emperor CondrocEdit

CondrocRare

The Emperor Condroc is quite rare, with a single one leading multiple condroc committees. It is unknown how an Emperor is chosen; whether at birth or by it's own initiative. Despite their name they can be either male of female.

When captured via Conservation they will reward the following:

Perfect Good Bad
ReputationLargeBlack1,800 ReputationLargeBlack1,350 ReputationLargeBlack900

NotesEdit

  • Condrocs can be seen flying above some parts of the Grineer Forest tileset but unlike when they appear on the Plains of Eidolon, they are purely decorative in these locations and cannot be killed or scanned.
  • Common (simply known as "Condroc" on release) and Rogue Condroc were added in Update 22.0 with the Plains of Eidolon, with Emperor Condroc being added in Update 24.6.
    • With this update the roles of the Common and Rogue Condroc seem to have been switched.

TriviaEdit

  • Condrocs are likely named after Condors, two species of carnivorous scavenger birds.
