TriviaEdit

  • Both the name and the abilities of this Warframe were chosen by submissions of Design Council being filtered by Digital Extremes then voting by the Design Council community.
  • Nova is one of the fastest Warframes, with a base sprint speed second to LokiIcon272 Loki and tied with Ash PrimeIcon272 Ash Prime and MirageIcon272 Mirage.
  • The term nova refers to the violent outbursts of energy that occur in cataclysmic variable stars. These variables are actually binary stars that consist of a tidally-distorted companion that accretes stellar material onto the surface of a white dwarf. In this accretion disk, the infalling matter is highly compressed on the white dwarf's surface due to its immense gravity. This process increases the pressure and temperature of the collected matter tremendously: enough to burn hydrogen. As this matter contains mostly hydrogen, runaway fusion reactions occur on the white dwarf's surface, producing an extremely bright thermonuclear outburst.
  • According to Nova's profile, her Warframe was a result of Tenno High Council research. This is widely believed to be a nod to the Design Council that aided in Nova's creation.
  • Nova is the last Warframe with a helmet that grants statistical changes (The Nova Flux Helmet), as all helmets released from NekrosIcon272 Nekros onward have since been entirely cosmetic.
  • Currently one of four frames that has three alternate helmets, the others being Loki, ExcaliburIcon272 Excalibur, and VaubanIcon272 Vauban.

BugsEdit

  • Dying while wearing a different helmet and using a different color scheme causes Nova's head to return to default coloring.

TriviaEdit

  • Nova Prime is the second prime Warframe after Nyx PrimeIcon272 Nyx Prime to have two enhanced stats, in this case increased Shields and Energy over her normal version.
    • She is also the second prime Warframe with a boost to shields, the first being Frost PrimeIcon272 Frost Prime.
  • Nova Prime marks the first time that an Open Beta Warframe – NovaIcon272 Nova – has received a prime variant. The previous seven prime Warframes (ExcaliburIcon272 Excalibur, FrostIcon272 Frost, MagIcon272 Mag, EmberIcon272 Ember, RhinoIcon272 Rhino, LokiIcon272 Loki, NyxIcon272 Nyx) are based on designs from the Closed Beta period.
  • Unlike previous prime Warframes, Nova Prime's gold parts can be recolored, which was made possible with the new Physical Based Rendering (PBR) techniques utilized in updates of the graphics engine first introduced at the time of her release. The PrimeSoma Soma Prime, PrimeVasto Vasto Prime and the Pyra Syandana Prime that came with Update 15.7 share the same feature.
  • Nova Prime's NullStar130xDark Null Star and AntimatterDrop130xDark Antimatter Drop both feature opaque gold spheres instead of the translucent spheres of the regular version.
  • Nova Prime's long ring neck design resembles the neck rings from the Kayan Tribe in Burma.
  • Nova Prime is the second prime Warframe to have a non-static model, the first being Rhino PrimeIcon272 Rhino Prime, as her helmet and back have casings that open with advanced movement, channeling, and activation of abilities, causing her energy coils to glow more intensely.

BugsEdit

  • Her moving parts will often become reversed, staying open even when the player is standing still with no powers currently active, and zooming in with a weapon will close them, with them re-opening when exiting zoom. The only way to fix this issue (although it will continue to happen) is to use a power.

MediaEdit

  • Nova Prime in Codex.
  • Nova Prime's Prime Access Image
  • Showing Nova Prime's dynamic model.

VaultingsEdit

  • On November 15, 2016, it was announced that Nova Prime would enter the Prime Vault and be retired from the reward tables on November 22, 2016. Any preexisting components or fully-built frames will remain as is.

Explosive CounterEdit

Whenever Nova is knocked down, she emits a field which will knock down and damage enemies in a 6 meter radius, as well as dealing 20 Impact b Impact damage.

Abilities Edit

NullStarModU15 NovaAbility1
ENERGY
25
KEY
1
Null Star
Creates anti-matter particles that seek nearby opponents and remove their Energy.
Strength:10 (true damage)
10 (energy depletion)
Duration:3 (particles)
Range:12 m
Misc:5% (damage reduction per particle)

Info
  • Nova creates 3 antimatter particles that orbit her and automatically launch themselves at enemies within 12 meters. Each particle inflicts 10 TrueDmg b True damage and grants +5% damage reduction to Nova's Health while orbiting her.
    • Depletes the target’s Energy when they hit.
    • Null Star has travel time and can miss targets.
    • Particle damage reduction can stack up to 15% and does not reduce damage to Nova's Shields.
  • Cannot pick up energy while having any Null Star motes active.
  • While active, a counter becomes visible on the ability icon that displays the number of available particles.
  • Nova becomes immune to staggers when Null Star is active.
  • Particles orbit for a minimum of 1 second before seeking a target.
  • Particles will only fire one at a time (i.e., multiple particles will not fire simultaneously).
  • Particles do not vanish after a period of inactivity and will last until used.
  • Nova cannot be knocked down while casting Null Star.
  • Null Star cannot be recast until all particles have been used.

Antimatter Drop
Launches a contained particle of antimatter that will detonate upon collision with increased deadliness when targeted by weapons.
Strength:140 (base damage)
10 (contact damage)
Duration:N/A
Range:N/A
Misc:8x (absorb multiplier)
6 m (explosion range)

Info
  • Nova creates a volatile orb of antimatter which is steered with the aiming reticle. This particle absorbs all damage (friendly and hostile) when shot at, and once the particle makes contact with a solid object it will detonate and inflict 140 base damage + 800% of all absorbed damage as Radiation b Radiation damage with an explosion radius of 6 meters. When the particle comes into contact with an enemy, 10 Radiation b Radiation damage is inflicted prior to detonation.
    • The particle does not absorb damage from other Antimatter Drop explosions.
  • The particle is guided via the HUD's targeting reticle, steering itself towards any object the reticle is placed on including environmental obstacles and enemies.
  • Looking directly at the particle will slow it down significantly.
  • Multiple particles can be active simultaneously.
  • The particle seems to have unlimited duration until it comes into contact with a solid object. However, multiple instances of particles at the same time will cause randomly timed explosions until there is only one left.
  • One particle can store up to 1,000 absorbed damage.
    • After absorbing the maximum amount of damage the particle will speed up rather significantly.
  • The coloring of the particle changes towards the caster's energy color as it absorbs damage.
  • Nova's visuals will appear gold when cast by Nova PrimeIcon272 Nova Prime.
  • This ability is a one-handed action; as such, it will not interrupt full actions such as reloading, charging, or shooting.

Augment
AntimatterMine
Main article: Antimatter Mine

Antimatter Mine is a Warframe Augment Mod for NovaIcon272 Nova's AntimatterDrop130xDark Antimatter Drop in Conclave which creates a fully charged stationary orb, that either explodes after 6 seconds or on enemy proximity.

Worm Hole
Creates a wormhole allowing instantaneous travel.
Strength:N/A
Duration:16 s
Range:20 m
Misc:1 (wormholes)
4 (uses)

Info
  • Nova creates a wormhole with an entrance directly in front of her and an exit-point 20 meters away that is centered on the HUD's targeting reticle. Only 1 wormhole can be active simultaneously. A wormhole can last for a maximum of 16 seconds and will collapse after 4 uses.
  • Creating another wormhole when the maximum number of active wormholes has been reached will cause the oldest wormhole to collapse.
  • Allies and enemies can travel through wormholes.
    • Wormhole's entrance created directly over an ally or an enemy will make him/her travel instantly as if he/she has crossed it.
    • However doing so on a player channeling an ability such as Mesa's Peacemaker will not make him/her move.
  • Weapon projectiles are not blocked or redirected by wormholes.
  • This ability is a one-handed action; as such, it will not interrupt full actions such as reloading, charging, or shooting.

Molecular Prime
Primes all enemies in a radius with volatile anti-matter.
Strength:
200 (explosion damage)
50% (slow)
Duration:
2 s (wave duration)
7.5 m/s (wave speed)
8 s (prime duration)
Range:
4 m (explosion radius)
Misc:15 m (wave radius)

Info
  • Nova unleashes a radial wave of antimatter particles. The wave starts 5 meters from Nova and propagates at a speed of 7.5 meters per second for 2 seconds before dissipating. All enemies in range are coated in antimatter that destabilizes their molecular structure for 8 seconds.
    • Enemies within the wave's initial range are instantly primed.
    • The wave has an effective radius of 15 meters.
  • Primed enemies move and attack 50% slower and detonate upon death dealing 200 Blast b Blast damage to enemies within 4 meters.
  • Each explosion can cause the subsequent death and detonation of nearby enemies, resulting in a chain reaction.
  • Molecular Prime does not stack from multiple Novas in a cell. Primed enemies cannot be reprimed until their current buff or debuff wears off.
  • Recasting Molecular Prime resets the spread of previous casts.
  • Nova is not invincible while casting, but she can resist knockdowns.
  • Can be cast in the air.
