Each kill with this swooping blade adds bonus corrosive damage to the Djinn Sentinel’s next Fatal Attraction cast. In turn, each Fatal Attraction cast by the sentinel bestows the weapon with a period of corrosive damage.

The Gazal Machete is a melee weapon that serves as a companion weapon to the Djinn sentinel.

The Gazal Machete was added into the game in Update: The Vacuum Within. The blueprint is available through clan research in the Tenno Lab.

Characteristics

This weapon deals primarily Slash damage.

Advantages

• High Slash damage - effective against health and shields (although Puncture and Impact is much better against the respective damage classes).
• Comes with an innate polarity.

Disadvantages

• Comparatively low Impact and Puncture damage.
• Very small jump attack radius.

Trivia

• The Gazal is the first weapon ingame that has specific synergistic abilities with another different item, in this case the Djinn sentinel.
• The word Gazal is the alternative spelling of Ghazal, a poetic form consisting of rhyming couplets and a refrain, with each line sharing the same meter in the Middle Eastern area.
