Coildrive is a Corpus ground vehicle that can be found in the Orb Vallis. Serving as a combat capable transport, it can be found patrolling the roads, or lying inactive inside one of the Corpus' maintenance sheds.
Special Duty Coildrives, appearing only during bounty missions, have hackable consoles at the front of the wheels.
Upon successfully defending a hacked Special Duty Coildrive, it will drop one of the following augment mods that can also be obtained through The Index:
Whilst it is in movement, it is capable of killing fauna and destroying a player's K-Drive.
It currently has no Codex entry despite being scannable.
Coildrive is the first hostile ground vehicle introduced into the game, followed by Grineer Tusk Thumper.
Despite not being capable of flight, it still counts as a dropship for Riven Challenges that require players to kill enemies off of dropships.
Patch History Edit
Fixed inability to approach Orb Vallis Coildrives to initiate a hack due to the Coildrive constantly shocking and knocking you back.
Fixed issues with Coildrive damage volumes not reflecting the actual size of the Coildrive.
Fixed Clients seeing FX on Special Duty Coildrive when it should be disabled when caught in the ambush trap in “Defend the Coildrive” Vallis Bounty missions.
Fixed Coildrives in Orb Vallis never despawning if the player doesn't move and the Coildrive has passengers still inside.
Fixed the Ambush Coildrive being invincible if the player previously abandoned a Coildrive Defense without hacking it.
Sound Additions & Changes
Added an activation ‘hack success’ sound to the Orb Vallis Coildrive Ambush encounter missions.
The Ambush Coildrive is now invincible from the start to prevent griefing or accidental kills. If damaged, it’s Shield will reduce but the Bounty will not fail.
Fixed the Ambush Coildrive attacking itself after a Host migration occurs.
